MEET GOD Worship@Merry Christmas to you! There are many things to celebrate this time of year!
First and foremost, we celebrate the fact that God sent His Son, Jesus, to be born FOR us! Take a moment with me, close your eyes and picture Jesus as that precious gift from God laying there in the manger. As you move in for a closer look you see a gift tag on this baby wrapped in swaddling cloths. As you turn the tag over you see your name written there. Just think of that…He was sent here for you!
Secondly, we as the body of Christ here at Trinity Klein have so much to celebrate and give thanks for as we close 2015 and prepare to turn into a new year:
• Our recent increase in baptisms during weekly WORSHIP.• The increase in our GROWth together in the study of God’s Word across all ages through Grow Groups, Sunday Bible Study hour, and new Membership classes!• Our groups who SERVE the needs of those hurting and in need of care continues to be met through the work of our SERVE teams and our new Serve Pastor! • The incredible impact of our JUST GO event at Reformation where we sent out backpacks, filled our food pantry, prepared care packages, bound large print bibles and so much more!• Our resolve to shine light into every dark corner of our world through our mission work is even more focused and determined than ever before!
As we turn to 2016 we know there is still so much more that God is asking of us here at Trinity. How exciting it will be for us to have another year of following the Lord Jesus.
We are really entering an exciting time for Trinity! Please don’t miss out on this time! We really need you as we “Reach the tens of thousands for Christ, making them disciples who Worship-Grow-Serve-and Go.”
- Pastor Chris Singer
Dear Trinity Klein,
As many of you may know, my wife and I are expecting our fifth child at the end of November or the early December (it’s possible she has already arrived). Our family has been anxiously awaiting her arrival and anticipating the significant change that she we will bring to our family. No matter how much you plan and prepare, you’re never quite ready for these new little people to join your family.
The church is seasonal in nature. God created us to have rhythms of work and rest (Sabbath) built into our weeks, months and years. As we enter into the season of Advent and Christmas, we move into one of the busier seasons of the year, especially for pastors. Having a child at the beginning of this season creates unique challenges of balancing work and family needs.
I wanted to let our congregation know that for the season of Advent, I have requested that I receive a “Sabbath” rest from my responsibilities as liturgist and preacher for our worship services. Our pastoral staff has been gracious enough to pick up my normal rotations adding additional work to their plates. This allows me to focus a bit more of my time on my family’s needs as we make this transition from a family of six to a family of seven. Once we adjust and everyone is doing well, I will jump back in!
We’re excited about this new phase of our lives and request your prayers for us during this time. I also thank the Lord for my amazing colleagues in the pastoral ministry who are picking up the pace at an already busy time. May the Lord bless your Advent preparations and Christmas celebrations!
- Pastor John Cordrey

CANCER CARE MINISTRYMy wife, Ann, battled cancer as a child, and my mother
overcame breast cancer in the early 2000’s. Cancer is that ugly disease that has affected so many of our lives. Have you directly been affected by cancer? Perhaps you or a
member of your family is currently battling cancer or has battled cancer in the past. If so, I would like to invite you to meet with me on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 9:50 a.m. in FLC 116A to help me begin to envision what a Cancer Care
Ministry could and should look like here at Trinity. Please be praying for God’s blessings upon this future ministry.

Go & Share GodTrinity Ablaze in Kenyaby Maureen Drepaul
It was indeed a great blessing to be part of the team for “Trinity Ablaze in Kenya”. Being an immigrant from a third world country myself, I immediately identified with the people there as soon as we arrived at our location of service. I mean, school children in uniform, some bare-footed, walking to school (nearly a mile in some cases); from their well-mannered behavior, and their respect for us, I immediately could tell that this country was once run by the British, and my British heritage came alive in me. But what struck me most was their humility, the joy in their faces, not minding the dirt roads, the dust blowing in their faces and on their clothes; and I at once felt these are Kenyan brothers and sisters in Christ wanting to be loved, and want to share their love. I was overwhelmed by this experience as it reminded me of the first missionary experiences of Lutherans in (then British) Guyana. The setting, the environment, the activities of everyday life there, took me back to Old Testament times. I met people from different denominations there, but what amazed me was they all knew who Jesus Christ was. What a privilege it was to serve alongside Kenyan doctors, evangelists, translators, and the local helpers. I met a nine-year old girl by the name of Esther. After conversing with her, I was touched by how much she knew the Lord (she recited Jeremiah 29:11 for me from memory), and her aspiration to become an engineer. She asked me if I would come back, and I told her I hoped to see her again some day. All around the community of this village as I looked at everyone, two words came to my mind that my grandmother always taught me, “ambition” and “aspiration”.
This trip made me more conscious of Trinity’s contribution and commitment to this Kenyan mission, and the dire need for more outreach like this to be done in wherever part of the world the Gospel needs to be told. The folks we related with for the short time we were there, sincerely appreciated Trinity’s outreach to them. I feel my experience on this mission trip was definitely more a blessing to me than my benefit was to the Kenyan people we served. “Blessed to Be a Blessing”: Isn’t this what we’re about? I am grateful for this opportunity granted to me by Trinity’s congregation, and I look forward to a return trip if all goes well. Thanks Trinity!
It has been busy in the office with holiday assistance for our community! Soon there will be lots of Christmas gifts to hand out!
Springing Hope 1:27 NewsOn Oct. 26, the day after our Just Go Mission Projects during Sunday School, several cars loaded with journey bags dropped off about 80 Journey Bags to Arrow Child and Family Ministries, a ministry that supports children in foster care here locally and in other places across the US. The staff all came out to help us unload the cars and they were so excited and appreciative of this new blessing they will have to support children and foster families. Thanks to all who supported this project in time or donations.
There are so many wonderful ways to get involved in supporting foster families and foster kids. A local collaboration to reach foster kids is www.orphancaresolutions.com Right on this website you will find information about different volunteer opportunities, two involving Christmas gifts and parties for foster youth. They will list more opportunities throughout the year including a wonderful summer camp opportunity next summer. Many churches are working in collaboration to answer the call to care for the orphans in our community. Each month we will highlight different ways you can also answer that call.

Trinity Lutheran School ... YOUR SchoolWith the first quarter of school behind us, we are now beginning preparations for the concerts and Christmas programs that are quickly approaching. Please plan to join us for some of these special events.
We have also officially moved into basketball and swim team season. With nine basketball teams on our campus this year, there should be a game or two that you will be able to catch ... and cheer the Eagles on to victory.
TLS students continue to be involved in assisting people with unique challenges. Extraordinary shoes have been provided via Peach’s Neet Feet to a number of children who are facing life-threatening illnesses. You can learn more about this very special organization by checking them out on Facebook. The November Prayer Partner Pantry Chapel brought in immense donations. Our students and families are always ready to share their blessings with others. To God be the Glory!
2015 Contributions notice! In order for contributions to be included on your 2015 giving statement, the IRS rule states that they must be received by the Church by Dec. 31, 2015. Thank you for your cooperation with this regulation.
“I encourage you to look upon the little hands [of baby Jesus] and remember they will be pierced to save you. See His beautiful brow and recall how it
will be crowned with thorns. Listen to His first cry and hear that cry echo, 33 years later, upon Calvary’s cross as He
proclaims our salvation is finished.” - Rev. Ken Klaus, speaker emeritus on
“The Lutheran Hour”
Poinsettias will be available for purchase through
mid-December. To purchase, sign up on the list available
