* During the month of December, we will be collecting donations of new, unopened toys, games, books, crayons, markers, clothing etc. to donate to needy children. We will also help the “I Am Foundation” with their goal to provide 1,000,000 books each year. Please bring any books new or slightly used and other donations to ALA. * This year for Armenta Angels we are collecting jackets, coats, sweaters and sweatshirts for local homeless people. We will be collecting at ALA all the way up to Winter Recess then taking all the jackets to Los Angeles for distribution. * ALA will be holding a contest to see which student will work the most volunteer hours this month. Students just need to log their service hours and have them signed by a supervisor or parent. We will tally up the hours at the end of the month, and whoever spent the most time volunteering will win a prize! * ACT/SAT classes will be held at ALA on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3-5pm. * Our Reading Program with Mrs. Armenta will be held from 3- 5pm on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Academy. * Secret Santa begins Tuesday, December 1 st . * Armenta Olympics and Games will be held Thursday, December 10 th at ALA. * Our Winter Recess will be from Monday, December 21 st to Friday January 1 st . School resumes on Monday, January 4 th . * December is National Drunk Driving Prevention Month, World AIDS Day is December 1 st , Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is December 7 th , National Human Rights Day is December 10 th and Winter Solstice (shortest day of the year) is December 22 nd . December is here and we are excited for a fun filled month of giving and time with loved ones. We have great contests, events and charity opportunities throughout the month! At Armenta Learning Academy, we are an accredited school with school and tutoring options available for all learning needs, including special needs and gifted students.
