December 17, 2017 • Third Sunday of Advent

Go to www.paxchristi.org for information regarding parish events, programs and ministries.

A Message from our Pastor:

The Third Sunday of Advent calls for spiritual joy. The responsorial Psalm says: “My soul rejoices in my God.”

The Lord is near. Let us open our heart this coming week to the joy that comes from the Savior. We may have

things to do before Christmas, but we cannot forget about what is most important: to be ready to welcome God.

Prepare your spirit as a home for Jesus Christ. The Prophet Isaiah tells us that “the spirit of the Lord God is upon

us”. With this spirit, the words of St. Paul are clear: “Rejoice always … In all circumstances give thanks, for this

is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”

How blessed we are living in this wonderful time, looking forward to see our Messiah. The rose color of this

Sunday encourages us to bring the good news to the world. O come Emmanuel. This coming week we should be

like John the Baptist, “the voice of one crying out in the desert, make straight the way of the Lord”.

In Christ’s Peace, Fr. Marek

What’s Happening at Our Parish... End of Year Giving

Any cash or check donations for 2017 must be turned into the parish office by Noon on Friday, December 29th.

Any stock donations need to be submitted to Rob Faughnan at the Diocese by Friday, December 15th.

“Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ leads naturally to the

practice of Stewardship. These linked realities, discipleship

and stewardship, then make up the fabric of a Christian life

in which each day is lived in an intimate, personal relation-

ship with the Lord.” ~ USCCB’s Pastoral Letter: Stewardship: A Disciple's Response (2002), p.14

Eucharistic Adoration

Adoration is a sign of devotion to and worship of Jesus Christ. The Chapel is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for quiet Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration and Confession are also available in the Chapel on Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

There is a small door on the front of the tabernacle which can be opened to expose the Blessed Sacrament with a glass cover to protect it. Please be respectful of other adorers in the Chapel by quietly entering the space. If you are the only adorer in the Chapel, please close the tabernacle door before you leave.

The Catholic Legacy Society was created to honor our legacy donors who have named their parish, Catholic school or a ministry of the Diocese of Colorado Springs as a beneficiary in their will or trust, retirement account, charitable gift annuity or charitable trust, life insurance policy, or through the establishment of an endowed fund.

The Diocese is grateful to acknowl-edge these special benefactors during their lifetimes. And, in conjunction with our mission, this special society provides an opportunity for benefac-tors to make their philanthropy a perpetual legacy for themselves and an example for their families. It also creates an infrastructure of support that makes our parishes, schools and ministries stronger, sustainable and better equipped to reach future generations.

If you have named your parish, a Catholic school or a ministry of the Diocese of Colorado Springs in your estate plan, or are considering doing so, we invite you to become a member of the Catholic Legacy Society.
