NINE LESSONS and CAROLS
Our worship services on the 4th Sunday of Advent, Dec. 18,
will be “The Nine Lessons and Carols”. This festival service
takes nine scripture readings, beginning with Genesis,
through which we are told of God’s saving love, from our “fall
from grace” through the birth of Jesus our Savior.
Interspersed are carols that carry the theme of the readings.
The 9:00 service will be led by the Praise Band, with
congregational carols, as well as special music. The Chancel
Choir will lead the 11:00 service with anthems and
congregational carols. The Colonial Heights Ringers will
provide special music, as well.
We hope that you will plan on being present for this special
Sunday of scripture and music, and invite others to join you.
This Week at CHPC
CARE SHEPHERD COOKS NEEDED
Do you like to cook? The Care Shepherd program at CHPC
is updating the list of folks willing to help prepare meals as
needs arise within the congregation. A Care Shepherd
would call periodically when a meal might be needed after a
hospitalization or for other special circumstances, such as a
death in the family. Care Shepherds will be available before
and after each service on Dec 11 and Dec 18 to sign you
up. Or you may call Lisa Pecorini at 239-5072 for more
information. The Care Shepherd program is a longtime
ministry, serving our CHPC family with love and support.
