Bill Heslop As well as directing this play, Bill has found time to learn his lines and play one of the lead characters. We can assure you that Bill is far from the ‘grumpy old man’ he portrays in tonight’s performance and is one of our most loved actors at the Wheatsheaf. He certainly looks a lot different to the pantomime in January when he donned a lot of lipstick and rouge to play our Dame. He followed that with a cameo role in our entry to the All England Festival, earlier in the spring.

Anne Collins A familiar face on our stage, and also the winner of last years Joe Williams cup for her outstanding performances last year in Bazaar and Rummage, Our Day Out and Summer End. Anne lends herself to a variety of roles and performs them all with

excellence.

Godiva Awards 2007 Can you help us win again?

The Wheatsheaf Players will always remember the Awards of 2006 with pride, when we were awarded the category of Best Theatre. We have had a fantastic year and enjoyed our success. Many of our regular audience members will recall our desire to win last year, and encouraging you to vote for us. The competition has been launched again and whilst we can only dream of winning a second time…we have to give the professional companies a run for their money! The awards promote and reward excellence in Coventry and Warwickshire. Now in their fourth year, the awards have become the leading event in the region recognising businesses with creativity, flair, ingenuity and commitment. We have been entered once again into the Best Theatre Category. So how can you vote for us? You can vote for the Wheatsheaf Players by either completing a comments form or via the website. You’ll find forms in our theatre – please fill in one per person, and you’ll also find them in bars, restaurants and visitor attractions around the city and Warwickshire…so keep filling them in for us! We are distributing comments forms throughout our production and we also posted copies out to those on our mailing list. Every vote counts, and you can vote more than once, so please take the time to complete another comments slip and post it in the box that you’ll find in our bar ar-ea. As you will appreciate, we are only a small amateur group and we need public support to help us continue to be one o the best theatres in the area. We’ll let you know how we get on. The website – www.godiva-awards.com is another way where you can vote for us each day. The Godiva Awards generates more than 100,000 web hits per week..why not be one of them? Better still – send the web address to people in your email address book, and encourage them to vote too. All completed voting entries received before Friday 12 October 2007 at midnight will be included in a prize draw where you could win £1,500 worth of vouchers for the winner to redeem against a holiday of your choice.
