Dear Mountview Families and Staff,

We are less than two weeks away from the start of school and I can hardly believe it! The MTV PTA has been hard at work this summer getting ready for the busy fall season. Attached to this letter are several flyers and forms to start off the year of PTA programs.

We are looking forward to meeting our incoming Kindergarten families at the PTA Meet and Greet scheduled for Wednesday August 29 at 10 am on the playground. This is a great opportunity for parents and students alike to meet classmates and learn about the PTA programs to make a smooth transition to Mountview. All Kindergarten families need to send an email requesting to receive the MTV PTA emails to keep informed.

You’ll notice several changes in the way the PTA programs are run this year. The most obvious one is that MTV PTA is going ONLINE. We will be using an online service to process ordering and payments for most of our fundraisers including Pizza days, Ice Cream, Membership, Author day book orders, Birthday Book Club, etc. You will need to create a login at My Food Days to participate in these programs. Our site will go live on Monday August 27th. Please look for additional information regarding this registration on Monday.

Another change is that PIZZA DAYS are now on WEDNESDAYS!!! Ordering and payment will be entirely online. Our first Pizza Day will be on Wednesday September 26th. Ordering must be complete by Friday September 20th.

We are hard at work on our 2018-19 MTV Family Directory. The directory is given to all families and staff and is an invaluable resource throughout the year. Please help us meet our tight printing deadline by filling out and returning the attached directory form ASAP especially if you have any changes in your contact information. We will upload classroom information for students so you do not need to wait to return. If your entry in last year’s directory was correct and nothing has changes, you can simply email mtv.pta@hanovertwpschools.org

The directory art contest is open to all students K-5. Please see the attached flyer for the contest rules and deadlines. Each year the winners from each grade are showcased on our directory covers.

We are still looking for sponsors for our directory. If you have a business that would like to be featured in our family directory please return the attached form as soon as possible.

On Tuesday September 11th we will be having our Welcome Back Popsicle Night on the MTV Playground from 5:30-7:30pm. All MTV families are welcome to attend (see flyer).

Our Spiritwear sale is now available online at www.SchoolTeamStores.com . There are a number of new clothing options on the attached list.

In closing, MTV has recently lost someone very special. Mary DelloRusso, a former Mountview parent who also served as the Secretary to the Nurse. The children have been through a lot, suffering from the loss of their father nine years earlier. A Go Fund Me page has been set-up to support them in the future. Drawing Contest

For the 2018-19 Mountview Family Directory One winner will be selected from each grade by the art teachers and the winners will be included in the directory.

Eligibility: All Mountview Road school students (as of Sep. 2018) Grades K to 5

Format and Size: The artwork will likely be printed black-and-white, but you are encouraged to submit work in color. Please limit your artwork to be no larger than letter size paper (8.5”x11”). Artwork in Portrait orientation works better than landscape.

Please do NOT include names on any part of the artwork; instead, fill out the artist

information on the submission slip at the bottom of the flyer with each submission.

Submission Deadline: All Entries should be submitted by Friday Sep. 21st, 2018 via backpack in an envelope addressed to PTA Directory Art Contest. Only one entry per student will be accepted.
