Dear Birthmother - Meet Roger, Kelly and Onika

We are Roger and Kelly, and this is our beautiful daughter Onika. We met fifteen years ago while on a military assignment in the Midwest and immediately were inseparable because of our shared sense of humor and ability to make each other laugh and we are still laughing being married for 11 years. We have a wonderful home, supportive family and friends, strong Marriage, and are excited to expand our family through adoption. Our daughter is extremely excited to be “a big sister and ready to teach her new sibling everything”.

OUR LIVES TOGETHEROUR HOME IS OUR SANCTUARY LOCATED IN THE HILLS OF PA IN A VERY FAMILY ORIENTED NEIGHBORHOOD; SURROUNDED BY 91/2 ACRES, WHICH IS ENJOYED BY AN ABUNDANCE OF WILDLIFE, OUR DAUGHTER, FRIENDS AND FAMILY, AND OUR TWO DOGS. THE BACK YARD HAS GREAT HILLS FOR SLEDDING AND A GREAT PLAY AREA WITH SWINGS, SLIDE, AND PLAYHOUSE ENJOYED ALL YEAR ROUND.

With an open concept, 5 bedrooms and 3 ½ baths our home is the gathering place for family and friends such as Birthday celebrations, play dates, football events, barbeques, camp outs, block party, and holiday festivities

Roger’s career as a Flight Engineer in the USAF since 1987, has allowed him to travel all over the world. His adventures has allowed him to see such sights as Temples in Egypt, ride camels, Castles in Germany, Cathedrals in Spain, eat cultural foods, and bring home trinkets from each country visited. Roger grew up in Chambersburg PA with an older brother with annual family vacations consisted of day events and camping Trips. Roger graduated from Chambersburg High school in 1984, growing-up he played sports specifically Football, hunting, camping and hanging out with friends. His family is very close with several Aunts, Uncles, grand-parents and numerous 1st and 2nd cousins all still in the Chambersburg area. Every August the Kline clan has a large cook out that everyone looks forward to just catch up.

Kelly entered the military in 1986, obtained an RN degree and became a USAF Flight Nurse. As a USAF flight nurse she was in Afghanistan after 2001, flew wounded soldiers to Germany regularly, and moved patients during Katrina just to name a couple of events. Prior to 9/11, she participated in many international projects in locations such as Japan, Germany, and England. In 2009, Kelly retired with the rank of Major. Kelly grew up in south NJ, as the oldest of three she has a brother and sister. Growing up with a pool in the yard and beaches near by the family spent a lot of time in and around water. We all participated in year round sports softball/baseball, basketball and soccer with our parents as coaches, with sport events that carried on through high school. Kelly graduated from Millville Senior high in 1985. Both parents while divorced and remarried have remained close making family gatherings something to look forward to

We are a very active family that enjoys being together and most of our activities are family oriented. A snap shot of a week for us would be to take Onika once a week to Gymnastics, one-two nights a week to Onika’s sport event (Basketball, Soccer, or T-ball), possible a Friday night to the drive-in, Saturday’s events could be: biking, hiking, attending a barbeque, entertaining family up for the weekend, or a play date with one of Onika’s many friends. Another example, on Father day’s weekend we had a small get together barbeque on Friday night, Saturday attended an extended family cook out, that evening we pitched a tent and camped out in the yard (Onika’s first camp out) and had smore’s, Sunday morning we went cherry picking, and decided we would relax the rest of Sunday

We enjoy taking vacation every summer to the Jersey shore with Kelly’s Parents, going for bike rides, hiking, yard projects, amusement parks, petting zoos, flying in our small private plane, and picking our own fruit at the local orchard.

WE WORKED HARD IN OUR EARLY YEARS TO ESTABLISH OUR CAREER’S AND BECOME FINANCIALLY STABLE TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO OUR CHILDREN THAN WE HAD GROWING UP. In 2007, we had our precious daughter, Onika and soon after wanted to extend our family, but

unfortunately we could not have any more children. Without hesitation we turned to the Journey of adopting. We are very excited to be adopting and having another child in our household will complete our family and we look so forward to the joy of loving him/her.
