OPEN YOURSELF TO A WORLD OF INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES AT DEAKINDeakin University offers many opportunities for you to go overseas as part of your Business, Commerce or Law studies. These include:

• Study Abroad and Exchange: study overseas at one of Deakin’s many partner universities for one trimester or a full year.

• Short term programs: from two to six weeks in length, this is an excellent way to participate in international study without committing to a full semester.

• Volunteering programs: experience cultural immersion while supporting a community development project overseas.

• International internships: experiential learning at its best. You can work in an area related to your course and career goals, while gaining international experience.

• Global Citizenship Program: add value to your degree through the Global Citizenship Program.

• Faculty-led study tours: join a group of fellow students and study your favourite subject overseas.

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP PROGRAMDeakin University’s Global Citizenship Program is aimed at supplementing your studies at Deakin and involves a combination of different international activities such as:

• international study experiences

• participation in internationally-focused units

• seminars on international topics

• international internships

• international-centred volunteering

• foreign language studies.

Once you have acquired the set number of points and skills, you will be awarded the Global Citizenship Program Certificate that will list the activities and the skills you have gained.

While the program is primarily non-credit bearing you can attach the certificate to your resume to show future employers the skills and attributes you have gained through your global experiences. The Global Citizenship Program is designed to be completed before you graduate.
