ALTAIR

Pressure FiltersAltair’s series of pressure filters consists of single

media sand, anthracite, activatedcarbon, greensand, and high ratemulti-media sand and anthracitetype filters. Filter systems can befurnished in both modular and skidassemblies, and with PLC controls.

SoftenersUsed to soften water by removingthe dissolved calcium and magne-sium salts. These salts causescale build-up in boiler tubes, piping, heat exchangers, etc. Altair canfurnish complete softener systems

for both industrial and commercial applications.

DealkalizersExcess alkalinity can have adverseeffects on process quality, boileroperation and efficiency, and con-densate return systems. Alkalinitiesbroken down by boiler heat releasecarbon dioxide into the steam. Thissteam when condensed contains carbonic acidwhich attacks the return systems. Removal of al-kalinity also reduces boiler foaming, and reducesblow down rates.

DemineralizersRemoval of dissolved mineral solidsby ion exchange produces high qual-ity water for use in boiler feed, metalfinishing, pharmaceuticals, IC circuits, and many other processes. Altairdemineralizers include both two bedand mixed bed designs, in both modular and skidpackage assembly. Effluent quality often as highas 18,000,000 ohms.

Reverse OsmosisContinuous high purity effluent forprocess and boiler feed. Altair re-verse osmosis systems utilizelow pressure energy efficient thinfilm membranes for longevity andlow cost operation. 99% rejec-tion. Single and double pass sys-tems with PLC controls, welded

steel frames. Altair reverse osmosis systems of-fer as standard features many of the componentsand features that are optional on other manufac-tures systems.

Forced Draft DegasifiersRemoval of undesirable gases, such ascarbon dioxide and hydrogen from pro-cess waters. Water sprayed onto apacking tower flows down through thepacking while air is forced up-flow,scrubbing out the dissolved gases.Forced draft degasification can reduceneutralization costs, reduce loads ondemineralizer systems, and eliminate odors fromprocess waters.

Service ExchangeDeionizersAltair’s service DI exchange pro-grams provide high purity water, eliminating operation and main-tenance costs, and on site

chemical regenerations. Altair exchange DI sys-tems are available in a variety of configurations:two bed Cation/Anion, single or multiple MixedBeds, Carbon Filtration. Softening, UV sterilization.Altair operates it’s own in house resin regenerationfacilities, and uses only top grade ion exchangeresins, manufactured by the leading resinsuppliers.

Control SystemsAltair control systems uti-lize state of the art instru-mentation, operator inter-faces, and programmablecontrollers for themonitorong and control of

all types of water treatment systems. All Altaircontrol systems are engineered and tested byexperienced in house engineers. Altair engi-neers can also retro-fit your outdated and prob-lem controls for water treatment systems ofany manufacturer.

DeaeratorsHigh efficiency method of removal of dissolvedgases from feedwater. Parallel down-flow de-

sign allows for maximum effectivecontact between water and steam, insuring maximum removal of dis-solved gases. Parallel down-flowdesign also handles the most se-vere operating conditions, loadswings, and 100% make-up require-

ments.

Continuous BlowdownControls dossolved solids levelsin boiler drum, eliminating erraticconcentration levels due to inter-mittent blow downs. Transfer theheat of the blow down stream tothe boiler make-up water, reduc-ing operating costs, while reduc-ing the blow down waste stream

discharge temperature .

Exhaust SilencersExhaust silencers are used to reduceexhaust steam noise, remove mois-ture and oil, and to protect building

roofs. Altair exhaust heads are efficient anddesigned for free flow. Altair exhaust silencersare fabricated from steel plate and steel pipe, with ANSI 150# steel inlet flanges. Sizes 3”

Field Service & InstallationAltair can furnish water treatment systems on a turn-keybasis, delivering to the end user a completely installedand operating system. Altair’s engineers can review andevaluate existing installations and make recommenda-tions on increasing operation efficiency, and upgradingsystem components. We can also furnish on-site engi-neering service for water analysis, plant operation, PLCprogramming, operator training, and instrument calibra-tion. Altair also offers it’s customers service contractscovering periodic system review and service, along with24 hour emergency service.
