E ancora, brand come Magniflex, Materassificio

Quest’anno tocca a due architetticinesi, Neri&Hu dello studio design and research officedi Shanghai.

Becausehigh-quality furniture feels at home inCologne and the choice to be on the ben-ches of the Rhine brought the organizersto the creation of new spaces. Greatpart of the 10.1 will be dedicated todesign, a way to highlight many namesof the international furniture dimension. As we said before, this year, at the sametime of imm cologne, there will also beLivingKitchen, the international eventfor kitchens with almost 200 exhibitors, now at its third edition. In Cologne theleaders of the market face the interna-tional competition – the major leagueof kitchen furniture – and industry ofappliances presents itself in the land ofthe modular kitchen. The exhibition willshow the topic of the kitchen in all of itsaspects. “Das Haus-Interiors on stage”comes back, charming set-up hostedin the pavilion 2.2 where every year adesigner, an architect, a creative mindis called to give his own interpretationof the space where to live. A real house,a domestic or multifunctional space, expression of taste, choices, preferencesof the personality to whom the researchoffice in Shanghai is entrusted. All theexhibiting companies will show, concen-trated in a place, a polyhedral offer ofproducts ready for the market, uniquein its wideness and depth, articulated inclear way.

PURE - HALLS 11, 10.1, 3.2, 2.2 ANDHALL 1Pure is the format of design quality. At Pure, the brands stand on their own merit- their own design, their own philosophy, their own production quality, their ownindividual style. Because Pure is as international as the world of design itself, theseelements extend far beyond national preferences and styles.

GLOBAL LIFESTYLES - HALLS 2.1, 3.1 AND 4.1Global Lifestyles has established itself as an international marketplace, characterizedby the diversity of its product range and its attractive value for money. The universalapproach of the Global Lifestyles segment is an opportunity for manufacturers ofliving-room and bedroom furniture from (mainly Eastern) Europe and Asia to gainaccess to the central European markets.

COMFORT - HALLS 6 AND 10.2Comfort is the segment for the diverse culture of comfortable sitting and laid-backresting and quiet time. The area of upholstered furniture reflects the individualizationof furnishing preferences as few other categories do. From individual “sofas for one”to modular seating groups to large-scale, multi-functional sets of seating, from sleeklounge armchairs to elegant couches to media-orientated reclining armchairs, thereis a broad range of products enriching the selection on display.

SMART - HALLS 7 UND 8The Smart segment unites the demands of contemporary living for younger people -practicality and versatility - with trendy design. Smart concentrates on the areas ofliving, flat-pack and ready to assemble furniture as well as bedroom furnishing.

SLEEP - HALLS 9 AND 5.1High-tech in a compact package! The mattress and sleeping systems, box-spring bedsand waterbeds within this segment offer innovative sleeping comfort, enhanced bydecorative bedding and accessories.

PRIME - HALLS 5.1 AND 10.1Prime reinterprets traditional, family-orientated home decoration with a modern-cozy, stylish aesthetic and consistently high-end quality for all ranges of tables, chai-rs, wardrobes, cupboards and beds. But a fair in Cologne is never only a pure exhibi-tion of products. For this reason much time is dedicated to the planning of events. Inthe field of furniture, Cologne shows the sector in all of its declinations. An excellentexample is the representation of “The Stage”, the forum of relations of imm colognein the exhibition area Pure Village in the 2.2 hall. What colors are trendy? Whatadded value bring the new illumination systems and how is it possible to integratethem? What sustainable programs will designers and businessmen show off? Theseand other questions qill be treated by the experts who during the week of the fair willpresent the relations in “The Stage”, with Interior Design is the key point. But the eyeneeds to go further: for instance, fashion can still be a dress for industry. It is clearthat in this environment, visitors can see “Das Haus – Interiors on Stage”, the spe-cial presentation designed by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu. The blog of imm colognein its series of news “This way the world lives” regularly reports how life is in citieslike Sidney, Copenhagen or Shanghai. Of course in the wide “The Stage” programis not oriented towards the mere German audience: thanks to the simultaneous tran-slation in English, contents are accessible to foreign visitors. The program of eventswill traditionally starts on the eve of the first exhibition day with the assignment ofthe “Interior Innovation Award”. Products awarded will be exhibited in an exhibiton the Boulevard. Further points of attraction for visitors are the “Sleep Lounge” inthe middle of 9 hall with the memorial party “meetsleep” on January 20th, he “PureOne” platform for young, spaces fill of atmosphere of the “Mood Lounge” in theComfort section at pavilion 10.2 and the trend show in the Prime Hal (10.1).

Oltre 200 gli appuntamenti.Leggendo fra l’agenda degli eventi, ci sembra importan-te segnalare l’iniziativa System design – Over 100 yearsof chaos in everyday life, che si terrà al MAKK, il Mu-seo di Arti Applicate di Colonia. L’Istituto Francese, incooperazione con Villa Noailles of Hyères, la Manifattu-ra Nazionale di Sèvres e D’Days Paris, presenta i lavoripartecipanti e vincenti al Design Parade 8 Grand PrixMathieu Peyroulet Ghilini.
