When deciding where to go on vacation many people desire a beach destination. Florida has hundreds of miles of coastline. Destin also boasts many restaurants. A few of the favorites are located on the Destin harbor. One being Harbor Docks, which serves local cuisine as well as sushi. McGuire’s Irish Pub is said to have the best steak in town, and they even brew their own beer.Another is Dewey Destin’s, which has two water-front locations.

Many people like to come to Destin and jet ski, or rent boats. There are plenty of places to do so. If you choose to rent a vessel you’ll want to make sure that you venture out to Crab Island. It’s more of a sandbar than an island, but in the warm months hundreds of boaters gather there to enjoy the sun and fun! There are obstacle courses, trampolines, and floating bars for accommodations, and sometimes live bands will play.

There are many attractions that bring people to Destin, but it is always important to be safe while on vacation. It is more than likely that you will be in the water at some point during your visit. Beware of your surroundings, and pay close attention to the flag system. It is designed to let swimmers know about the currents, tide and water conditions on a daily basis. It also helps to prevent injury or death during harmful conditions.
