is the engine of progress. It is the escalator on which humanity ascended

to a higher plane of existence. Underscoring the importance of science, R&D

has become the new buzzword and academic-industry collaboration has

entered an exciting phase. Nations are clued in to the fact that innovation

is key to leadership. Today, it is vital for educational institutions to leverage

this fact and do all it takes to inculcate the scientific spirit in young minds

and create an environment conducive for scientific enquiry within the

school. Don Bosco, Egmore, known for its holistic approach to education, is

therefore proud to announce the commissioning of its new, state-of-the-

art science centre, christened the Don Bosco Bicentenary Science Centre,

within its campus.

Celebrating a legacy As the bicentenary of our inspirational founder

approaches, Don Bosco, Egmore, has unveiled

an ambitious programme of transformation and

renewal under the banner of ‘Vision 2017’. As part

of this exercise that we are building a new science

centre within our campus where young minds

can indulge their passion for science supported by

modern technology and state-of-the-art facilities

in a comfortable and air-conditioned ambience. The

centre will have a basement and three floors. The

ground floor will house the chemistry lab, the first

floor the biology lab, the second floor the physics

lab while the basement will be used for music

lessons and robotics.

Don Bosco, founded by St. John Bosco, an Italian

educator saint, has always followed a unique

pedagogy which stressed the all-round development

of its students. Today, Don Bosco has become

synonymous with education that foregrounds

values along with academics. With a curriculum

that stimulates creativity and individuality and

innovative educational tools adapted to changing

needs in education and industry, we have managed

to carve out a unique position in the educational

sector. By providing our students a learning

environment that fosters their natural curiosity

and allows them freedom of self-expression, we

empower them to face the world with confidence

and self-assurance.
