Cost-effective Dayton punches include Press Fit (headed) and Jektole (slug ejection) punches, pilots, and special use punches.Optional composition materials include D2 (SKD11) and M2 (SKH51) equivalents and powdered high speed steels.To increase hardness and improve wear, we provide a full range of surface coatings, including Titanium Nitride, Titanium Carbonitride, Aluminum Chromnitride, and other heat treating processes.
Ball Lock Punches are mainstays in high-demand industries where dies are large and cannot be removed easily. The ball lock design allows worn punches and die buttons to be replaced without removing the die from the press, thus saving many hours of downtime. Dayton Ball Lock Punches are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, surface coatings, and configura-tions, e.g., point-larger-than-shank.
Press Fit Punches (Headed Punches) Ball Lock Punches
Dayton True Location Single Punch Retainers provide a timesaving, cost-effective solution for fitting single Press Fit Punches onto a die set. They eliminate the need to design, build, and fit one-of-a-kind retainers. True Location Single Punch Retainers are available for both round and shaped punches. True Location Single Punch Retainers allow easy replacement of broken or worn punches, drastically reducing down time.
Dayton True Position Single Punch Retainers are used for fitting single Ball Lock Punches onto a die set. They are available for both heavy and light duty applications. Dayton True Position Retainers are typically used in high-volume industries (such as automotive and appliance), and many automotive manufacturers have adopted True Position Retainers as the world standard. They are CNC compatible; require no re-doweling when replaced; and the precision-ground ball assures positive, repetitive alignment of shaped punches.

Multi-Change retainers and Change retainers are ideal to use in tooling operations that require different hole patterns. In addition, they can eliminate the need for multiple dies. For example, different parts-such as right-and-left-hand can be run in a single die.
