I wish everyone a very restful and safe holiday. I am sure everyone will enjoy having a break over the next two weeks. Teachers will be busy planning and preparing for the next term but I am sure they will also enjoy the change of pace.

Creative Generation

The Creative Generation will be in Brisbane for the first week of Term 3. I wish them all the very best and I am disappointed that I won’t be able to see the live stage performance. I will make sure that I watch it on television though. The team has been busy fundraising for the event with coffee stalls, sausage sizzles, meat trays and numbers board. Awesome effort. Thank you also to the local residents, businesses and community groups who very generously donated to ensure that Theodore students are able to participate in this event of a lifetime.

Thank you to the following sponsors:

• Theodore Medical Centre • Sharyn Holmes • Lorna Goodland • St George Anglican Ladies Guild • Aries Resources • Theodore Craft Group • Theodore State School Student Council • Theodore State School Parents and Citizens • Colin Boyce MP-Member for Callide • Anglo American • Theodore Lions Club

Solar Panels

This week our school is having one hundred and twenty solar panels fitted to the roof of C Block. The school gained grant funding through the Department for this project. It certainly should help lower the power bill.

School Uniforms

There is a clearly defined dress code for all students at Theodore State School, which has been developed by the Parents and Citizens Association through consultation with parents and students. The school uniform policy is fully endorsed by the P&C. For safety and to help promote a positive school image and identity, students are required to wear full school uniform at all times. On enrolment, every student and parent will sign a commitment to adhere to our dress code.

Students are required to be clean and well groomed at all times and present a positive and proud image of Theodore State School.

Please note: Secondary school polo shirt is available to purchase from the school office. All other school uniform items can be purchased from Holmes Enterprises.

For the last five Mondays over 50 students have participated in athletics activities after school on the School oval to improve their fitness, skills and to have fun. Without the support of our fantastic parent helpers this would not be possible. A big thank you to Honour Johnston, Leah Hewitt, Nat Goodland, Robyn Domin, Katrina Phipps, Kim Gonse, and Bobbi Joyce for their commitment.
