Guide Day Camp
Summer 2015
Once again this summer we are excited to offer summer day camp programs which include KinderCamp, Camp Summerside, Above the Rim
Basketball Camp, and Make It Your Game Multi-Sports Camp. We invite your child to create memories with us at camp, making this a
summer to remember.
What Can My Camper Expect During a Week at Camp?
Each week campers can expect to participate in a variety of games and activities which include camp songs, arts and crafts, indoor and out-
door sports and games, swimming, skating, beach days, a movie, dress-up days, as well as many other fun and exciting activities. Please
refer to the individual camp calendars for weekly themes, trips, special guests and activities.
*Please note that KinderCampers do not participate in skating or beach days.
What Should My Camper Bring Each Day?
- Picnic Lunch and 2 Healthy Snacks (*MUST be PEANUT/NUT FREE*)
- Refillable Water Bottle
- Sunscreen and Bug Spray (Camp does not supply!)
- Running Shoes and Sandals
- Hat
- Bathing Suit and Towel (Please bring to camp EVERYDAY)
- Blanket and Pillow (KinderCamp ONLY)
Behaviour
The rules of the camp will be discussed with each camper on the first day. Campers are not permitted to wander off unsupervised or leave
camp groups without permission. Camp staff will communicate any concerns to parents so that we can work together to solve problems
before they escalate. We reserve the right to dismiss/suspend any camper who continually displays disruptive or unsafe behavior.
Camper Absenteeism
It is a parent’s responsibility to notify us if a child will not be attending camp on a given day. Parents can call the Recreation Coordinator
Assistant at 613-258-9569 ext. 128.
Lost and Found
Please check the Camp Lost and Found located by the Sign In/Sign Out table each day to claim any lost articles that may belong to your
child. Please label all articles brought to camp with your camper’s name. Please be advised that we are not responsible for lost or stolen
items at camp, therefore we strongly urge you not to send valuables with your child.
Pizza Days
Each Thursday, pizza lunches (which include pizza slices and drinks) will be available to campers for purchase. Your child may order pizza
for $2.00/slice and a drink for $1.00. Campers may choose from pepperoni & cheese or plain cheese and drink options include Pepsi, 7Up
and Juice.
Sunscreen
Please note that sunscreen is not supplied to campers by the camp. It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that each camper brings
their own sunscreen with them and that the parent/child apply it once before coming to camp in the morning. Staff will assist campers in
re-applying as needed throughout the day.
NUT FREE ZONE
Due to the severity of tree nut and peanut allergies, our camps are nut free. This means that peanut and all nut products are prohibited
from camp.
Toys/GameBoys/iPods/etc.
Please note that these items are not allowed at camp. We are not responsible for items if they are broken, lost, or stolen. Therefore, we
encourage campers to leave these items at home where they are safe! We have plenty of games and toys for campers to play with when at
camp!

Deep in the KinderCamp jungle, we will find all kinds of creatures and critters from the animal king-
dom! This week we will be learning about lots of different animals—from those found on the farm to
others in the zoo. We will even learn to act like them when we compete in our very own Critter
Olympics! The Puppet Tamer will also entertain us with his puppeteering skills. To top off our ani-
mal-loving fun, we will celebrate Cow Appreciation Day with some cow games and crafts!

Grab your stuffed animals and cozy blankets and head out on a Teddy Bear
Adventure at KinderCamp! We will be spending time with our favourite ted-
dies, and learning about real bears too! Throughout the week, we will cuddle
up with our furry friends for a Teddy Bear Picnic and to watch Yogi Bear. Our
fuzzy guests will also be joined by Steve the Magic Reindeer and Zip-E the Elf’s
Christmas Spectacular. Can’t wait to see you bear!
Preschoolers will have the opportunity to experience a day camp environment, without straying too far from
the structure of a daycare. Preschoolers will interact with children their own age and become accustomed to
daily rules and routines that will help them prepare for future school environments. Expect days filled with
crafts, games, songs, various indoor and outdoor activities, daily story times and down/nap times. Occasion-
ally, children will enjoy special guests. Consider our full-day and half-day registration options. Register early!

Lavallee will also join in our weather watching fun with his
magical performance.
