STAFF - We carefully select our staff from colleges and universities around the United States, as well as from around the world. The staff are enthusiastic, well-trained, mature, and intelligent. They are excellent role models for children, chosen for their ability to create a warm, caring, and diverse community for kids. Overall we maintain a 1:6 staff to camper ratio. The administration of Camp Hazen is comprised of full-time YMCA professionals who are dedicated to the philosophy of Camp Hazen and who share a deep commitment to the development of youth.

LUNCH - Lunch is included in the camp fees. Meals are served in the dining hall and are skillfully prepared by our Food Service Director and staff.

BEFORE & AFTER CARE - Before care is available mornings from 7:30 am - 9:00 am and breakfast is included if campers arrive by 8:00 am. A TYPICAL DAY

THE PROGRAM THE GROUPSCampers are grouped with children in a similar grade. Each group has their own counselor who leads them through the day’s activities, and ensures that each camper is getting the most out of their camp experience. Younger campers have 7-9 in a group, older groups are slightly larger. In addition, we have program staff that help lead activities; our overall camper to staff ratio is 1 to 6.

THE ACTIVITIESEvery day is different, with countless activities in each of our four program areas: Creative Arts, Land Sports, Water Sports and Outdoor Pursuits. As campers get older, the program grows with them, offering more activities and more choice.

WHAT MAKES CAMP HAZEN DIFFERENT?OUR VALUESOur community is based on the YMCA pillars of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsiblity. We use these words in our groups, at meals in the Dining Hall, and throughout the day.

OUR PROMISEYour child will be our #1 priority. Everything we do, every decision we make, has your child’s safety and well-being in mind.

OUR CAUSEWe believe that all children should have a Hazen experience, regardless of ability to pay. Camp Hazen YMCA has instituted a voluntary 4-tier pricing program for our Summer Programs. For more information call our office, or go to our website.
