• Save the files• Extract/Unzip the data files to a location in

your computer.• Need not open xml files outside Excel.

STEP 4:IMPORTING XML FILE• Make sure that the data XML Files are downloaded on

your system• To import the data of the file into excel sheet open Excel

and follow these steps:1) Select the "Data" ribbon2) From the "Get External Data" group (should be top left), click on"From Other Sources"3) From the drop down list, select "From XML Data Import"4) Find the .xml file on your computer and Open it5) Then a message might pops up asking for creating aschema, just hit OK6) "Import Data" box is going to pop. Select the "XML table in existing worksheet" and put the starting cell appropriately($A$3)

• 5a – i: Insert four table columns to right of column E. Right

click on any cell in column E within the table and select Insert and select from the option you want.

• 5b: Total row :Click anywhere in table You can see a tab Design. Explore it to find total row

• 5d & 5e: Use options under Font and Alignment group

• 5f : Use the Design tab and explore the various styles.

STEP 6 RANK FUNCTION

• Use Excel Help to understand Syntax• Syntax

=RANK(number, range, order)

number: the number/cell for which you want to find the ranking within the “range”

range: range of numbers/cells within which the “number” will be ranked

Order: not really required for our purposes. Leave it blank do not put anything.

STEP 7D CONDITIONAL FORMATTING• Home tab• Conditional Formatting• New Rule• “Format only cells that contain”• Change between to “Greater than or equal to” from

the drop-down menu and put in the value 10000 in the right

• Hit Format and select the desired “Font” and “Fill” color they’re looking for

• Repeat the last two steps to get the second condition

=AVERAGE(• For entering the Range Switch to the Employee Info

sheet and select D2:D10 and hit enter while you are on the same sheet

• Then cell B1 in Salary Stats sheet should become=AVERAGE(’Employee Info’!D2:D10)
