DAY 1: SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 WELCOME TO BERLIN On arrival at Berlin’s Tegel Airport, a group transfer is provided to our hotel. Private transfers are available at addi�onal cost. At 17:30, join our Travel Director and travel companions for drinks followed by a Welcome Dinner with wine, at a local restaurant. (D) DAY 2: SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 THE SPIRIT OF BERLIN Join a Local Expert to see some of Berlin’s many highlights. Travel along the Ku’Damm to the Memorial Church. Drive through the Tiergarten to see Norman Foster’s glass dome that crowns the reconstructed Reichstag build- ing. Con�nue past the Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of the reunifica�on, and the Holocaust Memorial down along the Unter den Linden, past Checkpoint Charlie and State Opera. Stop on Museum Island before enjoying an a�ernoon at leisure in this once divided city. Visit the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church with its bomb-damaged tower. (B) DAY 3: SEPTEMBER 16, 2020 DRESDEN, A BAROQUE PHOENIX ON THE ELBE We con�nue to Dresden and join our Local Expert to see the splendors of the city. From the Frauenkirche, which has risen again from the destruc�on of World War II, walk past ‘The Procession of the Dukes’, a mosaic of colossal propor�ons on the Royal Palace facade. See the enormous cathedral, Semper Opera House and Baroque Zwinger Palace. (B) DAY 4: SEPTEMBER 17, 2020 DRESDEN TO NUREMBERG VIA WEIMAR Travel to Weimar to see the theater where the Weimar Cons�tu�on was dra�ed. In the a�ernoon, visit Buchen- wald at the site of the former concentra�on camp. Con�nue onto Nuremberg for the evening. (B) DAY 5: SEPTEMBER 18, 2020 NUREMBERG Nuremberg is renowned for its medieval architecture. Admire the charming blend of stone and �mbered dwell- ings in the Old Town, see the massive ramparts, most of which are s�ll standing, and perhaps shop for delicious Lebkuchen? See the St. Sebald Church, reconstructed as a pace monument from near-total war�me destruc�on. Bring yourself good luck spinning the two brass rings at the Schöner Brunnen, a 14th-century fountain dedicated to the Holy Roman Empire. Availability permi�ng, visit the Memoriam Nuremberg Trials and Courtroom 600, followed by visits to the impressive Documenta�on Center and Zeppelin Field. (B) DAY 6: SEPTEMBER 19, 2020 OBERAMMERGAU Travel to picturesque Oberammergau, situated in the heart of the Bavarian Alps and home of the Passion Play since 1634. We arrive the night prior to the play so our group can relax and explore at our leisure. Tomorrow’s two-part, 5-hour play starts at 1:30 pm and concludes at 9:30 pm. (B) DAY 7: SEPTEMBER 20, 2020 PASSION PLAY A�er a morning at leisure in charming Oberammergau, we take our premium reserved seats to witness the world-famous Passion Play, re-enac�ng the last days of Christ on earth. A�er a break for dinner in a local restau- rant, the cap�va�ng performance con�nues into the evening. (B, D) DAY 8: SEPTEMBER 21, 2020 MUNICH ORIENTATION Travel to fun loving Munich for an orienta�on tour which shows you the Feldernhalle on the Odeonsplatz, the Palace of the Dukes of Wi�elsbach, English Garden, Ho�rauhaus, St. Peters Church and the famous Marienplatz. You are at your leisure this a�ernoon to explore Munich. (B) DAY 9: SEPTEMBER 22, 2020 OKTOBERFEST EXPERIENCE Munich hosts the most famous beer fes�val in the world – Oktoberfest! The beer fes�val has been running since 1810 and now sees over 6 million visitors each year. You are at your leisure to enjoy the fes�val atmosphere, amusement rides, entertainment, beer and local Bavarian special�es! Note: beer table reserva�on requested. (B) DAY 10: SEPTEMBER 23, 2020 AUF WIEDERSEHEN MÜNCHEN Our tour of Germany concludes, and our group is transferred from the hotel to the Munich airport for your flight home. (B)
