Day 1: Leave USA Egypt. Day 2: Cairo Arrive Cairo Airport. We will be met by our host representative and assisted through customs and passport control and transferred to the 5 star Hotel. Evening is free. B/L on plane. Day3: Cairo Buffet Breakfast at hotel. Start your full day tour to explore the magnificent Cairo, a city lover’s city with plenty of attractions and things to do to. This tour includes the Pyramids of Giza with an opportunity to go inside the Great Pyramid, to visit the innermost chamber. We continue to Memphis, the first capital of Egypt, and visit the recumbent statue of Ramses II and the 80 ton alabaster sphinx. Continue to Sakara to see the first pyramid, the Step Pyramid, prototype of those to come. Lunch will be served at Deluxe Restaurant. Return to our hotel. Remainder of the day is free. ( B,L) Day 4: Cairo / Aswan Buffet Breakfast at hotel, Check out and we start our full day tour to visit The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities exhibits over 120,000 artifacts but we will concentrate this morning on the gold and treasures of King Tutankhamum. Our bus will then transport us across Cairo to the Citadel of Saladin and the Mohamed Ali Mosque, which is inside the Citadel – and also known as the Alabaster Mosque. This is “church day” and we’ll visit the Hanging Church & the 5th century Coptic Church of St Sergius, where tradition says the holy family stayed during their exile to Egypt. The Ben Ezra Synagogue is a unique relic of Cairo’s ancient thriving Jewish community. (tidbit: Egypt’s population is around 80 million, of which less than 200 are Jews). Tradition says this is where the princess found the baby Moses in the bulrushes. We’ll manage to work lunch into this busy day before stopping off at the Middle Ages bazaar, the Khan El Khalili, as we head toward the train station and board our overnight sleeper train for the 400 mile journey south to Aswan. Dinner on train. ( B,L,D )

Day 5: Aswan Breakfast on board. Awaken early to watch rural Egypt come awake as we speed by. Such a peaceful & tranquil view, as the fellahin & their animals go to their fields and their daily work. We’ll be met and transferred to our hotel for a quick shower & clean-up and early lunch before our visit to the High Dam and the granite quarries, where the Unfinished Obelisk has rested for thousands of years. Then we board a small motor launch for the journey across Lake Nasser to visit the Ptolomaic Philae Temple on its own island. Evening free. Overnight in hotel in Aswan. ( B, D )

Day 6: Aswan / Abu Simbel Buffet Breakfast at hotel. An early departure from Aswan Airport, flying the length of Lake Nasser to within a few miles of the Sudan border, where we visit the very well known Abu Simbel temples, dedicated to Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertari. This entire mountain was cut into pieces and moved 90’ to higher ground as the lake water threatened. The countries of the world united to save this magnificent monument in 1960. Would that be possible today? Upon returning to Aswan, we will be met and assisted with boarding our 5 star Nile Cruise. After lunch on board, we leave for a relaxing felucca sail around Kitchner’s Island, a lovely botanic garden in the middle of the Nile. All rested

before we board our cruise ship again for dinner and sleeping. ( B,L,D )

Day 7: Kom Ombo /Edfu / LuxorBuffet Breakfast on board. We sail this morning to the Nubian town of Kom Ombo where we tour the ancient temple of two Gods, Haroeris & Sobek, the crocodile god. Then we will enjoy a relaxing lunch while cruising to Edfu, where we tour the best preserved temple in

Egypt, the Temple of Horus, (the hawk-headed god & protector of the pharaoh). We are transported there in horse-drawn carriages. Continue to sail to Esna, crossing the locks, and sail into Luxor, capital of Egypt during the New Kingdom, and today, home to the greatest outdoor museum in the world. Dinner & overnight on board

Day 8: Luxor Buffet Breakfast on board. This morning we cross the Nile to the West Bank and a different world. This is the Necropolis of Ancient Thebes and our tour includes the Valley of the Kings, The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Egypt’s famous female Pharaoh), and the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch we’ll have an afternoon visit to the

magnificent Karnak Temples (largest religious complex in the world) and then Luxor Temple with a mosque built inside it. In the evening (Optional) Sound & Light Show at Karnak. Dinner & overnight on board. ( B,L,D ) Day 9: Luxor / Cairo Disembark after breakfast. Staff will transfer to Luxor Airport to Fly Back to Cairo Transfer to Hotel. PM Enjoy Dinner Cruise with Belly Dancer & Folkloric Show. Over night at Hotel (B,D)

Day 10: Sunday – Cairo / Alexandria Buffet Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, departure to Alexandria, a

three-hour drive from Cairo. Known as the “Pearl of the Mediterranean” and the largest port, Alexandria is the second populous city in Egypt. The atmosphere and ambiance of Alexandria is unlike any other city in Egypt and its main attractions differ from the tombs and temples to be found further south. The city tour starts with the visit of Fort Qaitbay built in the 15th century for the Mamluke Sultan as a coastal defense system, Montazah Palace and Public Gardens located on a high hill overlooking the most beautiful beach of Alexandria. Lunch will be at a deluxe restaurant and continue the tour to visit the imposing

Pomp Pillar, erected by a Roman Prefect in honour of the Emperor Diocletian in 302 AD, made of granite brought from Aswan. The Catacombs are magnificent tombs dating from the Roman period. This interesting funerary complex has been preserved in its original state and is believed to date from the 2nd century AD. Transfer back to Cairo and overnight at your hotel. (B,L) Day 11: Monday – Cairo Buffett Breakfast. Start our full day tour to visit the Pharonic Village including Egyptian Lunch. Take a step back in time about 3000 years back, just a few miles from the

center of Cairo in a time machine waiting to take you on a fantastic journey to the days of the Pharoahs, a time brought to life by an incredible

group of actors, exact reproduction of buildings, clothing and lifetstyles. Back to hotel in Cairo. (B,D) Farewell DInner.

Day 12: Cairo Check out after breakfast. Staff transfers us to the airport for our international departure. Arrive home on the same day.
