Dawn News Television Channel:

Dawn News draws on a distinguished heritage, adhering to the values of trust, credibility andreliability the same principles and purpose envisioned by Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad AliJinnah, the Father of the Nation. Dawn News is a part of the Dawn Media Group, whichalso includes the Dawn Newspaper (Pakistan's oldest newspaper and the one initiated by the

Quaid), Dawn.com (the newspaper's website) and CityFM89 (a popular radio channel).Adding to this array will soon be the Dawn News TV Channel's own website.

Dawn News is Pakistans first 24-hour English news channel. Based in Karachi, the station isa subsidiary of Pakistan Herald Publications Limited (PHPL), Pakistans largest English-language media group. The test transmission of the station occurred on May 25, 2007 and thechannel went live on July 23, 2007.

The channel is backed by Pakistans leading newspaper, covering National and Internationalnews and broadcasting exact and accurate information about what is happening around us.

BACKGROUND:

Dawn has catered generation to generation, technology to technology and

from newspaper to news channel. The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah launched

the Dawn newspaper in the 1940s.

Hameed Haroon( CEO & PUBLISHER of dawn group of newspaper)

announced the establishment of Pakistans First 24 hour English language

News channel in 2007 for some a Patriotic act of charity.

OF THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN.

Dawn News as the first English language news service in Pakistan. The rise of Dawn

News in Pakistan has created many opportunities for Pakistan as a country. What

separates Dawn News from other News networks is the fact that it is aimed at an elite

audience. The target is also the policy makers and the young people of Pakistan.

You can also see Dawn News's anchors, journalists and reporters primarily as young

people under the age of 35. What does this mean for Dawn News? This means that
