Our CommissionPart 5: Teaching them to Obey

Matthew 28 v 16-20

Matthew 28:16-2016 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to

which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the

Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am

with you always, to the end of the age.”

…teaching them to observe/obey all that I have commanded you.

2. How can I teach that to others?

1 Timothy 4:11-1611 Command and teach these things. 12 Don’t

let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
