organisational issues. The position also required the administration and management of research, including contractual negotiations, project timetableing and budgeting. This position also required the development and coordination of grant applications to both government and industry and the management of research infrastructure funds.

1991-93 Senior Lecturer Continued teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in research methods, environmental perception and specific course components in organisational psychology (research methods, workplace design). In addition, increasing supervision was required of graduate students particularly at the honours and PhD level.

1992 Half-Time Secondment to Human Resources at Curtin University This research secondment was undertaken to assess the leadership and training needs of academic and administrative staff at Cowan University, Curtin University, Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia. The project involved consultations with senior management and academic staff at the four universities and identified organisational barriers to effective leadership and the training needs of staff in leadership positions.

Environment & Behaviour

1988- Director Environment & Behaviour is a specialised research consultancy which was established to undertake social research in urban and regional planning, architecture and community services. Research has been contracted from both private industry and government, and has included assessing community attitudes to development proposals, evaluating service delivery, community needs analysis, social indicators analysis and social impact assessments. Major research projects have included social assessments and social impact assessments for Australia’s Regional Forest Agreement process, water reform dairy industry deregulation, fisheries and mining.
