David Kealhofer has been playing the cello for some time now, and he's certainly not getting any younger. Long ago, in my youth, the Shostakovich sonata was one of the firstpieces that captured my imagination and made me a better cellist.He figured he'd be playing it better by now. Currently, in the left hand, David has been struggling with his vibrato as well as the position of his fourth finger; in the right, David has been striving to improve his control over his articulation. David hopes to find more time in the future to practice and work through some of these long-standing technical difficulties.
