KIALLA CENTRAL PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Page 3

Last week final camp notes were sent home to students. Grades 5 & 6 are going to Camp Wyuna at Queenscliff

from Tuesday 10th to 13th October (1st week back). The Grades 3 & 4 are heading to Alexandra Adventure Camp from Wednesday 25th to Friday 27th October (Week 3). A number of students across all of these grades did not return the expression of interest form which lets us know who is going and who is not. Numbers also have an impact on camp costs and staffing. Final numbers need to be confirmed by the end of this week for the Grade 5 & 6 camp and next week for the Grades 3 & 4 camp. Students who do not go on camp are expected to attend school. Your child’s classroom teacher will leave them work and they will be placed in the other classes during camp time. Our 2018 Foundation students, have been sent their letters for our Term 4 Orientation Program. Kinders have also been notified of the following dates:

Session 1 ~ Monday 30th October 8.45am to 11.30am.

Session 2 ~ Thursday 16th November 12.30pm to 3.15pm

Session 3 ~ Tuesday 5th December Whole day

At this stage, we have 15 confirmed Foundation students starting at Kialla Central next year.

On Friday 22nd September we are

hosting our annual Footy Day. Students are encouraged to wear their

footy colours. This year we are asking for a gold coin donation for State Schools Relief. This organisation supports government school students, who’s families are experiencing financial difficulties, by helping to supply them with school uniforms, shoes and underwear. Our Junior School Council will collect these donations on the day.

Students will be involved in a tabloid rotation of football activities with Brodie Humphreys. Students will also have the opportunity to put in a Hot Dog order for lunch ~ see attached. If your child does not eat hotdogs then please

pack their lunch as per usual. Order forms and payment is due by Wednesday 20th September. Please note: no late orders will be accepted.

We will also be announcing the final results of the K.C.P.S. Footy Tipping Competition including: the winners and the Wooden Spoon recipient. Friday 22nd September is the last day of term, we will be finishing school at 2.15pm. Our bus will run as usual but arrival times will be an hour earlier. Our Outside School Hours Care program will operate from 2.15pm until 5.00pm sharp. Please ensure you note the change in times and that you have alterative arrangements in place. Finally, thank you to everyone for making my birthday very special last Thursday. Debbie Humphries Proud Principal of K.C.P.S.

REMINDERS If you have some spare time and can come to do some weeding our gardens are looking a little neglected at the moment. We have run out of time for a Working Bee for this term. Thanks! Uniform order and payment due Wednesday 20th September ~ see attached Hot Dog Orders and payment due Wednesday 20th September ~ see attached

K.C.P.S. Footy Tipping Competition 2017 Talking Finals with Miss H ...

Well there are some very happy Tigers supporters who are up and about and rightly so! Well done Tiges! Bomber 10 returned to town last week and dropped in to say hello … but she hasn’t been seen since the Bombers huge loss on the weekend and of course the end of her beloved Jobe Watson’s career. To make things worse our favourite son Alex Keath also got dropped from the first Crow’s final. So poor Bomber 10 has a lot to get over … hugs to you Bomber 10!

This week’s semi finals draw we will see: Friday 15th September - Cats v Swans at the SCG at 7.50pm Saturday 16th September - Giants v Eagles at the Spotless Stadium at 7.25pm

Bye: Crows & Tigers Who will win the Kialla Central Primary School Footy Tipping Competition and who will win the Wooden Spoon? These questions and more will be answered on Footy Day Friday 22nd September.

Footy Tipping Stars of the Week – For round 22 were ... sorry all will be revealed on Footy Day. Footy Tipping Ladder Leaders – Ah Ah … not telling you that either!

Thanks for a great Footy Tipping season!
