Parent Café Will Be Closed On November 20
The parent café will not be available for parents on November 20. It will
be used for the Immigration Simulation that fifth grade is having. Therefore,
parents and others may not join their children for lunch on that day. Thank you
for understanding.
Veterans Day at Brookwood
On Wednesday, November 11, Brookwood celebrated
Veterans Day. We were honored to have so many
veterans and active service members visit classrooms
throughout the day and share their experiences with
our students. Our students have a renewed
appreciation of the sacrifices our U.S. soldiers have
made or are making to keep us safe and free. Thank
you to all of the families that were able to send in
pictures of veterans and invited a family veteran to visit
Brookwood. In addition, thank you to all of the parents
who volunteered their time in the multipurpose room,
providing refreshments to our honored guests and
showing our veterans Brookwood’s “Wall of Heroes”
bulletin board. Also, thank you to the Veterans Day
Committee who all worked together to plan for this
special event and decorate the school. Most
importantly, thank you to all of the veterans and active service members who visited Brookwood. We are eternally
grateful for your service and sacrifice to our country.
Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive
Thank you, Brookwood Families! The Trek Leaders collected 350
boxes of stuffing during our fall food drive benefiting The Place. Thank
you for your generosity!
Teacher of the Year Luncheon
A big thank you to all who helped to make Mrs. Reynaud's teacher of the year luncheon a huge success. Thank you to all the parents that donated items and cooked for the staff of BES! Mrs. Reynaud and the entire staff were extremely grateful for the time and energy put into such a delicious lunch. Special appreciation to the Café staff as they prepped
and baked over 100 potatoes!!
News from the Art Room
Your child has been hard at work on his or her project for our annual fall fundraiser, Square 1 Art! We are now in the
home stretch of the order phase. You should see a Yellow “Last Chance to Order” flyer in their Friday folder today! All
paper orders are due no later than Wednesday, November 18.
Please consider remembering close family and friends with keepsake gifts printed with the artwork of their favorite
grandchild, niece, son, or cousin! Your art loving child might appreciate a sketchbook with their artwork printed on it,
a water bottle, or a pillowcase to dream on. Perhaps you might collect holiday ornaments for their future Christmas trees
or quilt blocks to be made into a special remembrance of their early years. Your gifts will be delivered to your child’s
homeroom the week of December 7. If you have any surprises, simply email Pam Edwards with instructions at :The ART

5th Grade Yearbook Baby Ad
What better way to honor your rising middle school student than with a baby ad in the yearbook? Creating your ad is easy. Go to www.balfour.com and enter our school’s name. On our school’s page, please click YEARBOOK, then click YEARBOOK ADS. You will then create an account to begin working on your AD! Parent Engagement Month
As you may know, November is Parent Engagement Month in Georgia, and districts and schools across the state will be
highlighting the role parents play in their children’s education. In addition, November 19 is National Parent Involvement
Day, a time for all schools and parents to reflect on the vital partnership needed between them for Georgia’s students
and schools to be successful.
This year, the Georgia Department of Education is looking for parents who are willing to share innovative ways they are
playing a role to support student achievement across the state. To explain this year’s Parent Engagement Month

Have you heard about Varagesale! If you like finding a good deal then check it out. For each new user who signs up, VarageSale will donate $10.00 to their local PTA, but you must sign up before Thanksgiving Day. These donations will quickly add up, making a difference in your child’s classroom. Participants don't have to be parents at the school, live in the county or live in the country.
