1. Please refer to Sainik Schools Society, Govt of India, Ministry of Defence,New Delhi letter No.5(14)/2013/D (SSe) dated 21st Aug 2013 addressed to thePrincipals of all Sainik Schools ( Photocopy of the said letter is enclosed for readyreference) .

2. The next All India Entrance Examination for admission to Classes VI and IX inSainik School Imphal will be held on 05 Jan 2014 (Sunday) at Sainik School Irnphalas per the following programme-

3. Publicity of the Test. An admission notice containing full details about theEntrance Examination is attached as Appendix 'A' to this letter. It is requested thatwide publicity may please be given to this notice through mass media, both print andelectronic as well as through Primary/Middle/High Schools under your jurisdictionabout the Entrance Examination for admission to Sainik School Imphal so thatmaximum number of candidates representing all section of society could appear inthe said exam.

4. Vetting of Applications. Applications submitted by the parents/guardiansmay be vetted at your end. All applications should be checked for their correctnessparticularly for the Date of Birth of the child. The candidates who are found overage/under age should not be allowed to appear in the examination under anycircumstances. The applications in respect of candidates who are not domicile ofyour state should not be accepted by your office. Such candidates may be asked toobtain/submit the applications to the concerned Sainik School of their respectivestates of domicile.

5. Allotment of Roll Numbers. The Roll Nos. in respect of the candidatesof your state will be allotted as :

(a) Mizoram : 2001 to 2500 for Class VI &: 7501 to 7600 for Class IX.(b) Tripura: 2501 to 2600 for Class VI &7601 to 7700 for Class IX.

6. Issue of Admit Cards. Admit Cards are to be issued to the candidates dulysigned by you on the photograph. Your office stamp (partly on the photograph andpartly on the Admit Card) is to be affixed. It may please be ensured that columnNo(s) 1 to 4 of the Admit Card is completed before issue.

7. Examination Centre for Test. An examination centre is to be set up atAizawllAgartala provided that your State Govt is prepared to bear the expensesincurred by our representative who will be a member of the Board for EntranceExamination as well as subsequent interviews. !t is, therefore, requested that a GovtOrder for conduct of the said examination may please be issued at your end

8. Constitution of Board for Examination. The composition of the Board willbe as under:-

9. Supply of Question papers and Answer Sheets. Question paper sandanswer sheets will be provided by the school. Our representative will report to you onor before 04 Jan 2014 along with the sealed question papers. It is requested thatnecessary arrangements may be made for boarding and lodging of ourrepresentative preferably near the examination centre during his visit for the conductof the examination.

10. After the examination the applications, identification Certificates alongwithsale proceeds of prospectus may be sent to the school through our representativewho will be coming to conduct the examination at your centre.

11. The names of Chairman and Members detailed for the Entrance ExaminationBoard may please be communicated to this school by 04 Dec 2013.

12. The school prospectus and sample question papers are being sent to youseparately.

SAINIK SCHOOL IMPHALNOTICE FOR ADMISSION TO CLASS VI AND IX

1. Introduction. Sainik School Imphal is ideally located at about 8 kms away fromImphal city on Imphal-Pangei road. The school is fully residential and has classes from VI toXII. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and also amember of Indian Public Schools Conference.

2. Aim. The primary aim of the school is to prepare boys academically, physically andmentally for entry into National Defence Academy. The school promotes national integrationand functions beyond the boundaries of caste, colour, creed, region and religion in sending itsstudents to the National Defence Academy (NDA) NDA being the vital national objective, theschool is pursuing multidimensional supplementation catering for scheduled tribe andschedule caste boys alongwith general category. Besides, the school prepares boys to bringthem up at par with the students of other good Public Schools thus giving an opportunity tothe children of the common man to avail Public School Education at a subsidized cost whichenables them to hold responsible positions in various other walks of life. A team of wellqualified staff and dedicated service officers ensure all round development of their personalityand shape them into patriotic men with all round development of personality.

3. Scholarship Scheme. There are libral Govt schemes for the award of scholarships forthe boys admitted to Sainik Schools on merit basis. Defence scholarships are available for thechildren of serving JCOs/Ors and Ex-servicemen. Details of scholarships are available in theProspectus.

4. Selection. Sainik School Imphal has been nominated to admit boys who are domicilesof Manipur, Mizorarn and Tripura to Class VI and IX. An All India Entrance Test to select theboys for admission to Class VI and Class IX in Sainik School Imphal will be held on 05January 2'-'14 (Sunday) at Imphal, Aizawl and Agartala. The test for Class VI will consist oftwo papers: first paper of Mathematics and Language Ability while the second paper willbe Intelligence Tests ( Total 300 marks ). For Class IX the test will include Mathematics,General Science, English and Social Studies (Total 450 marks). Sainik School Imphalconducts the examination in Enqlish, Hindi and Manipuri medium for admission to Class VI,whereas for ::::Iass IX tests will be conducted only in English medium. Those boys who qualifyin the Written Test will be interviewed by a Board to assess their communication skill, effectiveintelligenc .oclability and self confidence for which 50 marks are allotted separately.

5. EI:r,ibility. The eligibility criteria for admission in Sainik Schoollmphal is as follows:-

(a) For the boys of Manipur and Mizoram

(i) For Class VI : Boys born between 02 July 2003 and 01 July 2004 ie.those between 10 and 11 years of age on 01 July 2014 are eligible to apply.

(ii) For Class IX : Boys born between 02 July 2000 and 01 July 2001 i.e.those between 13 and 14 years of age on 01 July 2014 are eligible to apply.

(b) For the boys of Tripura

(i) For Class VI: Boys born between 02 July 2002 and 01 July 2003 i.e..hose between 11 and 12 years on 01 July 2014 are eligible to apply.

iii) For Class IX : Boys born between 02 July 1999 and 01 July 2000 i.e.

those between 14 and 15 years on 01 July 2014 are eligible to apply.

Note: No (I~) No relaxation in age will be allowed.

i6. Vacancies: Likely vacancies will be around 60-70 for admission to Class VI and 2-3for admission to Class IX during the next academic session 2014-15.

7. Reservation of Seats for SC/ST & Defence Personnel/Ex-Servicemen. 15% of thetotal seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 7%% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribesand 25% seats are reserved for the children of Defence Personnel including Ex-Servicemen.Relaxation in the qualifying standard is given for SC/ST candidates to fill up the prescribedquota on inter-se basis.

8. Application Forms & Prospectus. Application forms alongwith prospectus can beobtained on payment of Rs.400/- for GenlDef ( RS.250/- only for SC/ST) plus Rs. 50/- ifrequired to be sent by post, either by cash or by Bank Draft in favour of Principal, SainikSchoollmphal from the following sources :-

(a) Sainik School Imphal(b) Directorate of School Education, Govt of Mizoram, Aizawl(c) Directorate of SCERT, Agartala, Tripura.

9. Question papers of previous years are also available on payment of Rs. 50/- per setper year for admission to Class VI and IX.

10. The application duly filled and complete in a" respects should be submitted to theundermentioned offices/departments as per the state of domicile of the candidate latest by 07Dec 2013 (Saturday). Late applications will not be accepted. No correspondence will beentertained in respect of underage, overage candidates and incomplete applications:-

11. Those boys who are not the domicile of the abovementioned three north eastern statesof India but wish to appear in the Entrance Examination being conducted by Sainik SchoolImphal may obtain the prospectus-cum-application from the Principal of the concerned schoolin which admission is sought and submit the same to the school who will arrange their test inconsultation with Sainik Schoollmphal at the chosen centres.

NOTE: CANDIDATES WHO HAVE APPEARED IN THE ENTRANCE E4XAMINATIONEARLIER ARE NOT PERMITTED TO APPLY AGAIN.

12. The school does not patronize any coaching institutes/agents and theadmission will be made strictly on the basis of merit of the candidate in theEntrance Examination, interview and his medical fitness.
