Make sure the interface is on (power switch in the back green light in the front). The power cords often come loose. Plug a device into the appropriate channel – digital or analog. A Motion Sensor has two digital plugs; the yellow should be in digital channel 1 and the black in digital channel 2.

Click on the corresponding icon for the channel you chose. (Note for a Motion Sensor, use only the first of the two channels.)

Select the device you plugged in from the list and click OK.

Choose any settings desired for the experiment.

Click Start to record some data.

To see a graph of the data. Double click on the graph under Displays, select the desired data, and click OK.

To obtain a table of data, double click on Table under Displays, select the desired data, and click OK.

To take the data over to Excel, go to Edit/Copy on the menu. (If nothing is highlighted in the table, it copies the entire table of data.)
