Association Catalunya Somos Todos. Tots Som España

Data of the association Catalunya Somos Todos is an association constituted under the Organic Law 1/2002 and article 22 of the Spanish Constitution. Its registration is in the Register of Associations of the Ministry of the Interior with the number 611.794.

In Catalunya Somos Todos we defend harmony among all Spaniards because we believe that together we are more, we are better and we have much more to contribute to Europe and the rest of the world.

We want to be the voice of the Catalans who live outside of Catalonia for various reasons and who feel the need to rebel against the attempts of rupture. In this mission to fight for unity, many other Spaniards who share the love of Spain and who feel that Catalonia is part of it have joined us.

Introduction The report on 'Violence and breach of the law in the separatist process' has already become an essential tool to verify the methods by which nationalism intends to get away with their illegal process.

Year after year, we have collected the facts validated by the media and analyzed them from a legal point of view. Sometimes, the public authorities have acted to channel the situation, but in many other cases there has been passivity, carelessness or negligence.

The result offers a photograph of a territory of Spain where laws are half-fulfilled or not complied with and in which the institutions that should ensure respect for the legal order are those that tolerate, incite or directly ignore the law to favor the separatist cause.

One of the main objectives of this report is to denounce the situation that has existed in Catalonia for years. We have become accustomed to seeing one news item after another and we tend to think that this is normal, but the cumulative effect of each year and the sum of one year after another demands a solution: a democracy like Spain cannot permit nationalist totalitarianism prevail at its pleasure.

If our leaders do not take this problem seriously and do not decide to solve it, the messages that are transmitted are seriously worrying: "disobedience works", "breaking the law has no consequences", "violence helps you achieve your goals or objectives". The danger is that, sooner or later, the totalitarian strategy will spread to other areas and other territories.

"The internationalization of the conflict"

Another of the objectives of this document is to respond to the so-called "internationalization of the conflict", a trick that was used by the murderous ETA terrorist gang in its day and that carried within it a trap that we cannot ignore: in Catalonia there is not a conflict, instead there is a group that tries to impose its criteria based on violence, fear, violation of the laws and partisan use of the institutions.

In our task as an association, while trying to convey this message and to understand the assessment of other actors, we could gather the opinion of some foreign journalists and a Spanish representative in the European

Parliament. All agreed that Puigdemont's comedies have little success and only serve to draw the attention of the national media.

However, we believe that it is not advisable to lower our guard and that there is no worse error than to underestimate a political adversary. Mainly, when that adversary has access to sufficient economic and political means to continue resisting and willingness to do so while being able to afford the consequences.

We are pleased that the vast majority of Europeans - let alone in the rest of the world - ignore the nationalists because they consider it an internal question about which they do not dare to express their opinion. At best, some will think that Puigdemont and his troop are fair buffoons that are not worth looking at. Nevertheless, ignorance is an ally for separatism: nobody knows where the spark they need can be ignited to make the process irreversible.

Hence, it makes sense to document the face that separatism does not want to be known. The evidence gathered here shows that the split in Catalonia is not a just cause, it is the opposite of the Martin Luther King or Gandhi cases, with which nationalists look for a comparison.

We feel obliged to help Europeans and the rest of the world know that the separatist movement is based on deception, division and hatred. We have no doubt that the triumph of such values in Spain would give oxygen to similar ideologies even in the most unsuspecting places. After all, nationalism does not need historical facts or linguistic, geographic or ethnic differences: it is simply the imposition of the will of a few taking advantage of the loop holes of democracy.

When the law is not broken but...

As a novelty, this year we have included an annex in which cases are collected that do not violate the law but contribute to generating an atmosphere of violence conducive to moving the separatist process forward.

In previous reports, a significant number of cases were left out because of the rigor and seriousness with which we analyzed the situation. However, these cases serve to complete the portrait of the real Catalonia, where veiled threats or undemocratic postulates are added to real violence. Sometimes, political actors know the limit of legality and decide to skirt the limits with language or forms.

One of the clearest examples came from of Quim Torra proposing the Slovenian way as an example. His words can not be legally qualified as a direct call to armed violence, but you can judge whether it is a naive historical reference.

Of course, these demonstrations say a lot about the attitude of the Catalan independence leaders and their political irresponsibility. Their delirium is already reaching such an extreme that they put their objectives before the first of Human Rights: the right to life. Of course, the lives that must be given, this is nothing new, are those of others: anonymous fools whose only use is to serve as a foundation to the pedestal on which the strongmen can raise a monument to their own glory.

Certainly, those who say that this is not just a legal problem are right. Hence, it makes sense to collect as a sample the cases in which the public money of TV3 (regional public station) is dedicated to continuing the feeding the artifice which, in the name of a supposed democracy, the Constitution is condemned or the Civil Guard is silenced.

In short, all these examples in the annex complete the panorama of an independence movement that has long since turned outlaw and that trusts to achieve more successes the more lies, the more repression and the more violence is exerted on those whom it considers its enemies.

Letter from the president Much has changed in Spain, and particularly in Catalonia, since the attempted coup d'etat on October 1. After the first days of stupor, Spain took to the streets on October 8 to claim what is theirs: their territory, their people, their history.

True, no one took Puigdemont's bravado seriously enough. No one believed he would dare to shoot and he did ... only with wet gunpowder. And that gave us all an opportunity to intensify our reaction: it is not enough to stand, claim and resist the onslaught: democracy must overcome the separatist populism that prevails in Catalonia.

At the judicial level, nationalism is obviously damaged and that obviously affects its political strength. However, one should not be overconfident, one cannot leave them any breathing space. As an association, from Catalunya Somos Todos, we are not satisfied with being mere spectators of what the party in power should do. In this report you will find the reasons why you cannot lower your guard.

Spain cannot get used to a slightly peculiar Catalonia, that is an autonomous community where you cannot speak Spanish so as not to disturb, where the King does not appear so as not to generate disturbances or where, ultimately, the rules of the game are different.

If in a school in Valladolid it were taught that Hitler was a great guy, how long would the High Education Inspection take to investigate the teacher, the school and the board? Would the Government of Castile and Leon get away with no consequences? If the property of Pedro Sánchez or his family were systematically damaged, would an investigation be undertaken to see who is behind it? Would the means to try to avoid such actions be put into effect?

The problem is aggravated when the victims of political corruption are Spanish citizens (Catalans or not) who not only do not find protection in the municipal and autonomous authorities, but these governments are by action or omission their main aggressors. To make matters worse, the State has tended in recent years not to exercise its role in Catalonia, leaving its citizens unprotected. We already know that behind this blockade, there are political causes: we will have to grab that bull by the horns and look for a solution to that failure in our system.

The true exile of Catalonia

In any case, the consequence of all the above which we find ourselves dealing with is that those people who do not agree with nationalism have only two options: either to keep quiet, so that their children do not suffer the consequences nor their properties damaged, or to leave Catalonia to be able to live freely.

Indeed, we must say it out loud: in Catalonia a silent exile is taking place. They are people who are lucky enough to be able to change jobs, although they are forced to move away from

family and friends. In some cases, people who a few years ago had no interest in politics, but who have found themselves in a scenario of insufferable radicalization. Those who are in favor of nationalism remain and benefit from it and those who are against it and are forced to shut up because of the threats. The consequence is twofold: an an impoverishment of the social and professional structures (we prefer a bad doctor who speaks Catalan to a good doctor who does not speak it) and a growing margin of action for separatists.

It is true that there is a third option against the nationalist regime. It's not that I forget about it, but I want to give it a special place. It is the option of resistance. More and more people have joined the resistance in Catalonia. They they were always there, but the latest events have brought them to light with intelligence, boldness and courage: removing yellow ribbons, hanging Spanish flags, shouting long live Tabarnia, showing their faces and raising their voices in the institutions.

It is the so-called silent Catalonia with which separatism, convinced that it would achieve its end by insisting, has stumbled up against. They are the thorn in Puigdemont, Torra and their followers’ side because it delegitimizes them, because they show that the separatists are not Catalonia and do not even represent Catalonia, because they denounce to the world the outrages of a regime that wanted to present itself as a victim when in reality it is an executioner.

For all of them, for those who have had to leave, for those who remain and cannot speak because their integrity is in jeopardy and that of their family, for those who rebel against injustice every day, it is worth continuing in the breach. From our modest role as an association, we want to be the echo of their denunciations and the encouragement of Spain supporting their resistance.

CASE 1: Anti-system manual for attacking vehicles

Description of the facts: The guidelines of the CDR (Committees in Defense of the Republic, anti-establishment groups) are based on a manual of 72 pages and 15 chapters that explains the techniques of this urban guerrilla warfare. The manual details how police intervention units work and how they can be attacked.

Place and date: Catalonia, 2018

Laws breached: Penal Code Article 557.2 (Of public disorder)

1. Who acting in a group or individually but protected by the group, alter the public peace by executing acts of violence on people or things, or threatening others with carrying them out, will be punished with a penalty of six months to three years of prison.

These penalties shall be imposed without prejudice to those that may correspond to the concrete acts of violence or threats that may have been carried out.

2. Those who act on or leading the group or its individuals will be punished with the same penalties, by inciting them to perform the actions described in the previous section or reinforcing their willingness to carry them out.

Article 510 (Crime of incitement to hatred)

CASE 2: Arran, CDR... the 'kale borroka' of Catalan secessionism

Description of the facts: The CDRs (Committees of Defense of the Republic), those acronyms are behind the promoters of the actions of kale borroka (street protests by masked individuals, destruction of public property, barricades in the streets, burning garbage containers - actions developed and carried out in the Basque territory by the supporters of the ETA Terrorist group)that with increasing intensity are happening throughout the Catalan territory. They are a screen organization of Arran, the youth group of the CUP (Catalan Anti-capitalist Party), created in its day following the model of the Committees of Defense of the Cuban Revolution.

CASE 3: The CDRs dump excrement in front of several courts in Catalonia

Description of the facts: Under the motto of 'What shitty justice!', The CDR poured excrement and garbage at the gates of the courts of Granollers, Manresa (Barcelona), Figueres, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Santa Coloma de Farners (Girona), Gandesa ( Tarragona) and Solsona (Lleida).

The committees posted the images together with posters with the message 'Shit justice', and in a note they pose the following question: "What does Spanish justice smell? At your doors you will find the answer".

CASE 19: A young man in Osona is attacked for removing yellow ribbons

Description of the facts: A man walks down a street full of yellow plastic ribbons (symbols of solidarity with the Catalan politicians in police custody), and decides to remove some. Two vehicles appear, their occupants get out and begin to hit the man with baseball bats. A neighbor hears the screams and goes out to stop the aggression. Description of the facts: An independentist savagely attacked a 67-year-old woman for removing yellow ribbons from a public road. CASE 22: They investigate a professor for fighting nationalist indoctrination

Description of the facts: The Catalan government opened a disciplinary file on Professor of History Francisco Oya for the manner in which he taught at the IES Joan Boscà in Barcelona.

According to Oya, "the students have to know the history, not the propaganda or the canonical vision of a certain movement". To this end, the professor distributed among his students documents that question the official version of the History that is taught in the center.

CASE 23: Pro-independence teachers of Mallorca incite hatred in social networks

Description of the facts: A group of parents of the La Salle school in Mallorca has reported that one of their teachers uses the social networks to send messages of incitement to hatred and in favor of the

CASE 33: Independence students and others boycott an act in homage of Cervantes at the University of Barcelona

Description of the facts: With the slogans "In the UB, they will not pass" and "Fascists out of the university ", a group of students and others concentrated there entered the UB's historic building and tried to access the Catalan Civil Society (SCC )act, one of the celebrations organized for the 500th anniversary of Cervantes death, which had begun to be held behind closed doors in the Magna lecture hall of the university and was attended by the then president of this entity contrary to the independence of Catalonia, José Rosiñol.

CASE 34: The Arran youth organization starts a campaign of vandalism against tourism

Description of the facts: A small group of militants from Arran, a youth organization linked to the CUP political party (anti-capitalists), chained themselves to Gaudi's dragon at Park Güell to protest against the arrival of "mass tourism".

CASE 39: Forced removal of a Spanish flag during a football game in Girona

Description of the facts: In a match of the Spanish League between Girona and Real Valladolid, security members of the Montilivi stadium (Gerona) forced a spectator to withdraw a Spanish flag.

The security of the local team threatened on several occasions the owner of the Spanish flag with expulsion from the stadium, which finally caused the Spanish flag to be removed from the visitor's stand.

CASE 47: Attack on a restaurant in Blanes for refusing to place yellow ribbons at its entrance

Description of the facts: The owner of the restaurant refused to let a group of independence supporters tie yellow ribbons at the entrance to his establishment and immediately withdrew them. The crowd began to insult him causing the amazement of the tourists.

The owner assures that he has received threats, not only against him, but also against his family and professional environment that, he assures, have harmed his business.

The insults and threats have spread to social networks, where the independence supporters tried to alter the ratings of the restaurant on Facebook and in web sites specializez in restaurants.

The confrontation resulted in the citation of three separatists before the Civil Guard, while their comrades backed them up at the gates of the Police Station. The owner of the premises presented a complaint to the police by which an investigation was opened for the crimes of incitement to hatred and insults.

CASE 51: The CDRs (Committes in Defense of the Republic) announce more attacks and occupations of town halls

CASE 58: The CDR prevent a demonstration in favor of the use of the Spanish language

Description of the facts: A concentration convened in the Plaza Sant Jaume by the Committees for the Defense of the Republic (CDR) prevented a demonstration against the education policy of linguistic immersion to conclude with parliaments and the reading of a manifesto in that same square, as had been authorized.

CASE 62: "Hasn’t the son of a bitch of your father died yet?" Threat to the son of the former Government representative in Catalonia

Description of the facts: One of the children of Enric Milló, the government delegate in Catalonia during the Spanish National Government of Rajoy, received a message on Facebook in which a man wished the death of his father: "Has not the son of a bitch of your father died yet?". "I hope he dies of a slow and painful cancer, the world would be a little better without him."

CASE 64: Attempt of aggression against Barcelona supporters of the National Football Team

Description of the facts: Members of the Barcelona platform in favor of the National Football Team installed a stand in the Catalan capital to collect signatures in favor of the Spanish National Football Team playing a match in Barcelona.

The reaction of the Arran organization (youth branch of the CUP Anti-capitalist Party) trying to block this activity, which had all the permits, forced the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) to intervene.

Because of the aggressive attitude of the radical independence supporter, the stand had to be guarded by the Mossos so that its activity could continue to develop normally.

CASE 65: Mobilization of Arran in the hours before October 1st anniversary

Description of the facts: During the hours leading up to the anniversary of the illegal referendum on October 1, the youth organization Arran, heated up the atmosphere in the streets.

Its members mobilized to turn Barcelona into a scenario of tension: convened counterprogram demonstration against the concentration of national police and civil guards that had been mobilized to pay tribute to the agents who had tried to stop the illegal referendum

The objective of Arran was to impulse direct confrontation, trying to unleash a pitched battle in the Ciudad Condal.

CASE 66: A CDR group enters the Generalitat delegation in Gerona

Description of the facts: A group of CDR entered the Delegation of the Generalitat in Girona and, under the slogan 'republic or republic', demanded the withdrawal of the Spanish flag that flies over this public building.

Subsequently, it was seen how, effectively, the national flag was replaced for a few moments by the “estelada” flag, symbol of the independence ideology.

CASE 67: Torra encourages the CDR to continue "pestering"

Description of the facts: The independence movement inaugurated its "heated autumn" on October 1st. Thus, from early in the morning, hundreds of members of the self-proclaimed Defense Committees of the Republic (CDR) cut off the high-speed train (AVE) routes through Gerona and blocked traffic on several highways and roads in the Catalan community.

Before these disorders, the president of the Catalan autonomous community, Quim Torra, thanked the CDR for their activity and asked them not to stop "pestering" the Government of Spain.

CASE 68: Assaults on and insults to the journalist Cake Minuesa in Barcelona

Description of the facts: The journalist of the Intereconomía chain went to report on the disturbances organized by the separatists in Catalonia.

To this end, Minuesa went to the Barcelona Stock Exchange, where the separatists had gathered in a concentration in order to fill its doors with trash and intimidate the people who were working inside the building.

CASE 70: Corrosive acids are thrown at members of JUSAPOL in Barcelona

Description of the facts: The president of Jusapol (a National Police Association), Natan Espinosa, informed that, when arriving in Barcelona, the members of the association for salary equity between security forces were received by groups that spit at them, insulted them and threw "corrosive acid".

CASE 71: The CDRs block the high speed train and the AP-7 motorway

CASE 73: The CDR block the streets of Barcelona

Description of the facts: Shortly after 7 o'clock on the morning of October 1, 2018, the CDR (Committees in Defense of the Republic) block several central streets of Barcelona, such as the Plaza de Catalunya, Ronda de Sant Pere, the Gran Vía, Diagonal Avenue, Aragó Street and the Via Laietana.

Case 75: Confrontation with the Mossos D'Esquadra on the anniversary of October 1st illegal referendum

CASE 76: The Aneto Cross Monument suffers Catalan independence vandalism

Description of the facts: The Aneto Cross monument was painted yellow in an attempt to give visibility to the Catalan independence movement on the occasion of the first anniversary of October 1st . Near it is the statue of the Virgen del Pilar, on whose pedestal yellow ribbons had also been drawn.

CASE 79: A man in the Barcelona metro is attacked for carrying the Spanish flag

Description of the facts: It happened in Barcelona shortly after a demonstration by the Jusapol police union of the Civil Guard and the National Police and of the attempt of the Committees in Defense of the Republic (CDR) to boycott the demonstration.

The victim was pushed in the back and shoved down the stairs in a subway station because he was wearing a cap with the Spanish flag colors. It was an assault by surprise and at his back, without there being any discussion or struggle, at least in the metro facilities, according to several witnesses.

A man, who has not yet been identified, shoved the victim in the back who, in his fall, hit his head and opened a deep cut from which he was bleeding profusely.

CASE 80: New attempt by the CDR to break up a demonstration of JUSAPOL

Description of the facts: In Barcelona, the Mossos d'Esquadra had to charge against demonstrators of the Committees of Defense of the Republic (CDR) when they tried to break through the riot containment barrier that prevented them from reaching the Arc de Triomf

The Arc de Triomf was the end of the march called by the police association Jusapol which was demanding the salary equalization of the security forces of the State with respect to the autonomies.

The counter-demonstration, called by the CDRs in protest to the presence of the Jusapol police association in the Catalan capital and attended by about 400 people, was at all times protected by a large anti-riot deployment that prevented them from approaching the Jusapol march .

CASE 81: "Humor" on TV3: blowing one’s nose with the flags of Spain, the United States, France, Germany and Catalonia

CASE 82: Manuel Valls had to be protected against the harassment of the independence supporters.

Description of the facts: The self-proclaimed Committees in the Defense of the Republic tried to boycott the act of Manuel Valls, candidate for mayor of Barcelona for the municipal elections of 2019, when he presented a book at the Civic Center of Navas, in the Catalan capital.

At the end of the act, when Manuel Valls was preparing to leave the Navas Civic Center, he was the object of all kinds of insults and had to be protected by the Mossos (Catalan police) until he managed to leave the area in a taxi.

CASE 84: Boycott at the UB Law School of a legal conference

Description of the facts: On Thursday, November 15, the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Law of the University of Barcelona inaugurated a legal conference organized by said university, the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and the Transjus Institute.

The threats and previous protests of the Prague Collective, the SEPC union (close to the CUP anti-capitañists) and the CDRs caused the Supreme Court president, Carlos Lesmes, to decline the offer to intervene. However, and despite the posters in the university with the slogan "The jailers are not welcome", the act went ahead.

The blockade tried to prevent, without success, the assistance of Jesus Cubero, magistrate of the Supreme Court, who despite the threats had decided to attend. The separatists had shown their opposition to the act to protest against the judiciary that, according to the independence movement, keeps the secessionist leaders in prison.

CASE 87: The private vehicle of the president of the PP of Catalonia, Alejandro Fernández, is vandalized

Description of the facts: Alejandro Fernández, president of the PP of Catalonia denounced in the social network Twitter that some strangers punctured his tires and painted a good part of his private vehicle. In addition, they painted a swastika, the symbol of the German Nazi party.

CASE 90: The TV3 program Polónia compares the Catalans who carry symbols of Spain with the Nazis

Description of the facts: The satirical program Polònia broadcasted a sketch of just over two minutes where you can see a man and a woman who are dressed in Nazi and Fascist clothing, and adorned with flags of Spain.

The video shows how the woman paints a swastika and receives the jubilant encouragement of the man, both as we said before dressed in Nazi and Fascist aesthetics.

In the same video you can see this couple insulting and hitting a person wearing a yellow (independence) ribbon.

CASE 92: Balearic textbook: "The legitimate language is Catalan"

Description of the facts: "A clear intention to ideologically sway students in Catalan". It is said that, despite the "cultural euphoria" of the fifteenth century, "the incipient Castilianization" and "the increasingly frequent use of Spanish as a language of court culture" are a "negative aspect". CASE 95: Several injured and arrested in protests against tributes to the Constitution in Gerona

Description of the facts: The commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Constitution ended in violent incidents in Girona and Terrassa, (Barcelona), where the Mossos (Catalan police) charged against two groups of protesters who tried to boycott the celebration of scheduled

events breaking through the police cordon, leaving more than twenty injured and three detained.

In Girona, where the ceremony to commemorate the Magna Carta was convened in the morning by the Borbonia group and supported by the PP and Vox, a young man - who was released after giving a statement at the police station - was arrested and a score of people were injured, including 15 Mossos.

CASE 98: CDRs raise toll barriers again

Description of the facts: The Committees for the Defense of the Republic (CDR) lifted all the barriers of the tolls of the AP-7 highway in Catalonia in one of its multiple attacks. "Today the highway is free," the pro-independence radicals declared.

They left trucks and cars blocked for hours, and caused several kilometers of retentions.

CASE 99: The founder of Terra Lliure calls to take the Parlament on 21st December and re-proclaim the republic.

Description of the facts: Fredi Bentanachs, founder of the Catalan terrorist group Terra Lliure, broadcasted a home video on social networks to promote the protest against the meeting of the Council of Ministers announced for December 21.

Bentanachs declared that if you have to storm the Parlament, you storm, and if you have to occupy it, you occupy it, "but you do not enter and when a window is broken you run away, because would be a total banalization of the movement".

In this sense, he calls for the streets and squares to be filled with thousands of Catalans on December 21, "to shout that the streets will always be ours, and we will consolidate the republic we proclaimed on October 27".

CASE 100: A TV3 journalist demands Marc Márquez to declare himself a separatist to be "a good Catalan"

Description of the facts: The journalist Jordi Barbeta demands that the Moto GP champion, Marc Márquez, declare himself a separatist.

CASE 101: TV3 encourages participation in the demonstrations against the Council of Ministers celebrated in Barcelona o 21st of December

Description of the facts: “Tot es mou” is a program run by Helena García Melero the TV3 journalist. The theme was “the day of violence called by nationalism for December 21st: "The Great Aturada" and even made a logo for it.

According to the public network, there are illegal blockades or attacks on the freedom of the Catalans: there are mobilizations, and from the TV screen they encourage the participation of all the spectators, with maps, pictograms, schedules, etc.




The distribution or public dissemination, through any means, of messages or slogans that incite the commission of any of the offenses of disturbing the public order of article 557 bis of the Penal Code, or that serve to reinforce the decision to carry them out , will be punished with a fine of three to twelve months or imprisonment of three months to a year.

CASE 103: A CDR assaults an Intereconomía reporter during the disorders on December 21st

Description of the facts: The Intereconomía reporter Cake Minuesa was assaulted by a member of the CDR (Committee to Defend the Republic), who punched him in the nose when he was covering the protests against the Council of Ministers in Barcelona.

The Emergency Medical Service (SEM) attended the journalist at 9.35 in the morning in the Plaza Urquinaona of the Catalan capital for "slight contusions in the nose" and he was discharged "in situ".

The Association of Journalists of Catalonia has condemned the attack "against freedom of information and democracy", and has asked to let journalists to work. "We ask once again that we be allowed to work and condemn all attacks on professionals, wherever they come from," they said through Twitter.

CASE 104: The CDRs are mobilized against the Council of Ministers held in Barcelona

Description of the facts: There were protesters, journalists and onlookers running in the area; several people, some hooded and others with bare faces, were throwing stones, paint, garbage bags and plastic water bottles at the agents.

The megaphone of the Mossos (Catalan police) began to warn: if they did not desist from their attitude, "imminent police action" would be taken. The barriers were opened and a group of Mossos started running, truncheons up; then there was a general stampede and scenes of confusion.

It was the first police charge in Drassanes. Everything went flying, from garbage containers to a traffic light. At that moment, along the Calle del Portal de Santa Madrona, several Mossos vans appeared at high speed that dispersed the demonstrators.

They were all pushed to La Rambla, and there they remained, with many CDRs (Committees in Defense of the Republic) already in command in the first rows, challenging a cordon of the autonomic police.

Description of the facts: The Committees of Defense of the Republic (CDR) want to take the initiative and lead a 'final revolt' taking advantage of the mobilizations this Friday (December21st). CASE 106: Two mossos d'esquadra seriously injured during the incidents of December 21st

Description of the facts: On the occasion of the Council of Ministers in Barcelona on December 21, the CDR tried to block off more than 92 roads and vital points of transport, in many cases with tires and fire barricades.

During those days, a patrol of the mossos d'escuadra collided against a wall of tires in the early morning of that day. This is what the USPAC police union says according to ABC:

"The events happened at 5.20 am on the morning of the 21st, when the two agents, in the private vehicle of one of them, were heading to the police station in Montblanc (Tarragona) to begin their duty. On the N-240, at the height of the Borges Blanques (Lleida), at a point without lighting or visibility, the car hit the tire barrier. The two agents have been on leave since then and suffer "serious injuries of varying severity", according to Uspac, specifically "sprain in the neck and whiplash injury," the report states.

CASE B: Controversy in the New Year’s Eve celebration on TV3. Criticism of (Spanish Constitution Article)155 and the freedom of political prisoners

Description of the facts: Quim Masferrer was commissioned to do a monologue in an act of independence that Òmnium Cultural organized, and in which he described the Spaniards as "bunch of thieves, mangy and fucking bastards".

In the end of the year celebration they criticized article 155 in a subtle but direct way. "I think 2018 is a nice number, it sounds good. Do not you think there are beautiful numbers and other ugly ones? "Said Quim Masferrer. "For example, 155 is ugly."

CASE I: The Catalan secessionism forces the King to leave Gerona in full affront

Description of the facts: The decision to leave Gerona comes in the middle of a campaign of harassment against the Monarchy in Catalonia, both on the street and in institutions. The province is one of the main centers of the independence movement and the City Council of the capital already refused this year to permit its auditorium to be used for the “Princess of Gerona Awards” as in previous years and named the King persona non grata. This circumstance already forced the award ceremony to be held at the restaurant of the Roca brothers. The ceremony, for the first time, was forced to take place outside the city of Gerona.

The City Council was not the only imprudent actor. The Chamber of Commerce of Gerona, one of the founders of the Princess of Gerona Foundation, decided to leave the board and two of its winners in 2011 and 2015 waived the awards.

CASE J: TV3 in front of police being sent to Catalonia: "The wood returns home for Christmas"

Description of the facts: The Catalan public television of TV3 is again news this time by attacking the National Police. The program Està passant, presented by Toni Soler, broadcasted a video entitled The wood (outdated slang reference to the National police) returns home for Christmas in which the regional channel mocks the agents of this police force.

The video was broadcasted after the Ministry of the Interior announced the mobilization of 500 officers of the Police Intervention Units (UIP) of the National Police to protect the Council of Ministers in Barcelona on December 21st .

CASE L: Quim Torra proposes the Slovenian way as an example for the Catalan independence movement

Description of the facts: "The Catalans have lost their fear, they are not afraid, there is no turning back on the road to freedom, the Slovenians decided to go ahead with all the consequences, let's do as they did and be willing to do everything to live free," said Torra in Brussels in the presentation of the Council for the (Catalan) Republic.

It was not the first time that the 'Slovenian way' was mentioned as an example to follow in Catalan independence process. But that it was the president of the Catalan Generalitat who referred to the independence of Slovenia openly - and the fact that he obviated the lives that that (independence) process claimed - generated a huge political commotion.

Ada Colau, mayor of Barcelona, described Torra’s statements as "serious irresponsibility", an almost unanimous opinion: Citizens Party (Ciudadans), PSC (Socialist Party), Catalonia in Comú and the Popular Party recalled that in the Slovenian secession there was a war with more than 70 deaths and a referendum with a 93% participation.

CASE M: The Parliament declares the Constitution "anti-democratic and antisocial".

Description of the facts: The Catalan Parliament proclaimed on Tuesday that the Spanish Constitution has an "antidemocratic and antisocial" character, a text promoted by the CUP (Anti-capitalist Party) that garnered the support of JxCat, ERC and the 'comuns', against the negative vote of the Citizens Party (Cuidadans), PSC (Socialist Party) and Popular Party Catauña.

Data The 2018 report includes a total of 106 cases in which a possible commission of crimes has been detected to favor the independence cause. These cases amount to 301 violations of the laws in force in the Spanish legal system.

The Penal Code is, by far, the rule that has been violated more often in the cases that are collected, since the actions described in the report amount to 215 breaches of the aforementioned law. They are followed by breaches of the Citizen Security Law, with 63 violations, and the Spanish Constitution, with 12.

Within the Criminal Code, the crime of damage to property, included in article 263.1, stands out above all, with 36 violations. By itself this type of attacks, which sometimes occurs repeatedly, is enough to put pressure on those who do not share the ideas of Catalan nationalism: if only for the cost of repairing the damage, most of the people affected by these crimes can not afford too many "heroic" acts.

The crime of damages competes with the one of "harassment and coercion" typified in article 172 of the Penal Code. In the graph you can see that it occupies the third place, with 24 violations; however, it is combined with another more "subtle" form of harassment, if in this practice subtlety can be referred to, collected in the second part. The sum of both forms of harassment reaches 48 violations.

Third, the crime of public disorder, clearly associated with the proliferation of CDR actions and the call for street mobilization as a mechanism of political pressure.

This is how the panorama in Catalonia is drawn. Opposing Catalan nationalism (or independence) means putting your property at risk, seeing your safety and that of your family compromised, being harassed and attacked ... in the name of a supposed pacifism and supposed freedom for a supposed people to whom someone has decided that you do not belong.

Without intending to be excessively exhaustive, it can be seen that the other violations are not isolated cases and do not correspond to small-scale crimes: thus, we find crimes such as public disorder (21 violations), incitement to hatred (19), attack against authority (19), injuries (16) or insults (12).

Although up to now we have described the ranking of the outstanding articles of the Penal Code, we should not get lost in the figures, since in the majority of the occasions the crimes combine to reinforce their effect. Thus, what we qualify as a crime of damage, a graffiti, is at the same time a crime of threats, for the messages that appear on the property of the victim: to the aforementioned economic expenses are added threats or slander, whose damages morals are difficult to estimate, but we can see reflected in the fear that this kind of actions instills in a public officer or in their family.

The fact that a part of the population is being harassed and attacked, that its economy is undermined and the exercise of its rights prevented, reveals a serious deterioration of democracy in Catalonia.

Unfortunately this is a circumstance that is increasing, because, although the data from previous years can not be compared in a strict manner, remember that in our first report on the subject (2016) we collected 58 cases, which amounted to 100 in 2017 and that total 106 in 2018.

Unfortunately, many of the crimes end up being unpunished and their authors protected by anonymity without anyone considering a problem of generalized violence; the autonomic leaders encourage their followers to "pester" and the exile or silence of the non-nationalists is perceived as success. But how far can the harrassment go?

The pincer institutions-CDR Although the average offers eight cases of violence and breach of the law each month, the truth is that the high season begins in September, in the days before the Catalan National Day (Sept 11), and lasts until the end of the year.

Each year can count on its particularity and 2018 had other dates marked on the calendar: the commemoration of the illegal referendum on October 1 and the mobilizations against the presence of the Council of Ministers on December 21. Everything continues pointing to the fact that the mobilizations are not the result of the spontaneous madness of isolated groups.

The month of November registered an interesting increase because it was between the two key dates, but, especially due to the facts included in Case 3, a coordinated action against the courts in seven Catalan municipalities.

All this data eliminates any probability of reference to isolated circumstances or residual groups. It is clear that the intensification of the

cases collected is measured and that the regional authorities form a pincer with well-defined objectives.

Every year the use of public television to instigate hatred is, if anything, more brazen. There is no shortage of political leaders or journalists who use their privileged position of influence to refer to the need to die for independence. In this sense, the praise of the Slovenian secession by the President of the Catalan Government, Quim Torra, is one of the clearest examples.

Insatiable nationalism: the extension of the problem to Valencia and the Balearic Islands If someone thinks that everything is solved with a referendum, he is wrong. If someone trusts that the remote possibility of splitting would end the problem, he commits a serious base error.

Separatism, by definition, is insatiable. Its existence is justified in moving the goal posts when it seems that the goal is about to be reached. After a hypothetical separation, nationalism, which is imperialist insofar as it advocates expanding its borders, would still have a reason to exist.

The myth of the Països Catalans, which extend through Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic Islands, part of Aragon and part of Murcia and reaches French territory is very old. This map forms the basis for the

extension of the model to the aforementioned territories: institutional model, school indoctrination, dissemination through public media, favoring the Catalan media. All this with the convenient investment of public money. This is included in some of the cases in this report.

At the moment, the vast majority of Valencians feel very Valencian and very Spanish, so Catalan secessionism understands that we must apply the tried and true model: violent groups and institutional advancement.
