Data and Reports- Selected Challenges
Sheer volume of indicators
Other developmental AgendasIntegrated Indicator Framework
Access to possible new data sources from non traditional data suppliers (Private sector & Civil Society) – how to deal with governance issues emanating from this?
Lack of data for reporting on SDGs
Leads to more domesticated data due to slight change in the indicator/ definition and/or method of computation

Tackling data gaps
Sectoral Working Groups (SWG)are a key component in bridging the gap
SocialEconomicEnvironmentPeace, Safety and Governance
SWG provide a pathway for various role-players including
Government, private sector, academia, NGO’s, etc to
significantly address the Data Gaps
SWG1. Discuss the indicators in detail and decide on the ones that the country would
report on
2. Provide data for the indicators
3. Interrogate the indicator values
• Disaggregation of indicators (age, gender, disability, etc)• Subnational (How low can we go with measuring and in how many indicators by goal?)• Which stakeholders should provide missing data (best placed to provide)?
