Plan

In this course we learnt multiple methods of color rendering in various media. The rendering techniques varied from design development color sketches to full-color high standard of presentation. In this case we were asked to study one of the local café shops and sketch the plan, perspective and section.

Interior Perspective

This course introduced us to the fundamentals of interior lighting design, recognition of sources and systems, and light measurement and calculation.

Emphasis was placed on communicating and design solution by accomplishing projects that are application oriented.

In this course we were asked to design a restaurant or café shop, consider the lighting features and provide a effective space for entertaining. In this project the light fixtures are hidden behind Gypsum boards, by providing glass lines on the Gypsum I let the patterns to be exposed when the light is on.

IDES 266 Resource and Material

This course introduced the recognition and specification of appropriate resources and materials.

We learnt the application techniques and code regulations that influence a designer’s selection.

Preliminary cost estimating is also introduced.

In this case I designed a franchise of a cafe shop called (cafe Del Moro), starting with researching the materials which will be appropriate to a cafe shop.

I was focused to use eco friendly and green material as it is aesthetically appealing in a commercial interior as well as easy to maintain.

Additionally I used Green which is a cool colour that symbolizes nature and the natural world and it has been said that Green is thought to relieve stress and help heal.

Preliminary 3D Computer ideas

In this course we studied three dimensional from and space using appropriate tools and materials.

A three-dimensional sensibility is developed through the use of research, analysis and study models.

We were asked to provide a 3D space and design the plan section and the exterior, my project is a restaurant building and it contains different levels.

I wanted to focus on a dynamic design approach here.

IDES 350 Residential Design

This is all studio course in which the focus is residential interiors. We were asked to design a residential villa by providing plan section elevation and whatever is needed.

In my design I tried to use different levels circular lines as well as panoramic windows in order to marry the inside with the outside.

The interiors can have a fascinating view of the Japanese gardens outside and beautiful green foliage.

The façade shows the slop roof. I considered that the villa is located in a cool area that’s why I design the slop roof to be more appropriate for the regional climate.

The skylight on top of the entrance door let the natural light to get inside.

The importance of natural light made me consider more windows in designing the villa.

IDES 350 Residential Design

Three bedroom independent villa with private garden, it has tow kids room and a master bedroom, the floor is all parquet to give it an elegant look as well as it is easy for maintenance.

The circular kitchen gives the residence the advantage of more outside view.High ceiling wooden roof give a sense of open space.

I tried to create harmony between the materials and colors. The office is a busy and noisy space so I installed Acoustic Panels to absorb the sound. I was asked to consider interior circulation and create easy access rooms. The sense of furniture proportion and colour harmony was also considered.

IDES 361 Commercial design

This is a course in the design of business environments andcommercial interiors that includes critical client analysis, complex programming, space planning and theuse of open-office systems.

We were also introduced to relevant accessibility codeslegislation and standard building andfire safety codes as relevant to commercial design.

In this course, we prepared a thesis proposal with the assistance and approval of the Program Chair. The proposal took into account the student’s strengths and professional ambitions.

We produced a research paper (thesis) that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of interior design and an ability to carry out pertinent research in an independent manner.Requirements also included analytical studies, site selection and documentation, and a final presentation to an advisory panel.

Preliminary bridge sketch

The purpose of the pedestrian bridge was to connect one of the busiest high ways in Dubai Sheik Zayed Rd and let pedestrians cross safely.

This bridge was located next to the metro. It is also near big apartment complexes to allow people to walk to the other side from their home to work to media city for example.

Left hand side landscape design, which includes car parking, restaurant, and garden.

My basic focus was on the bridge but I designthe landscapes for the residence living around.

The preliminary idea about the aquarium building shape

The bridge connects the island to the main road, the island has different building but I concentrated on one of them which is the aquarium

This is a course in we implement our thesis research by developing projects that incorporate all the principles of design, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of interior design and evidence of professional capability.

Final presentation of the resulting design was judged by a panel of judges from diverse interior design and architectural backgrounds.

In this project I combined the shape of the Clown fish with the box and I finally managed to get the fish shape plan according to my needs. The interior and the exterior must have a strong relationship according to the shape.

The tranquil garden in the middle provides a more relaxing environment and a place for visitors to sit and relax, The skylight on top allows the natural light to get in. The vibrant colors motivate exhibitors to be more active.

The panoramic restaurant lets the diners to enjoy the choice of seafood while they are looking at the whole ocean out of the window; the extra sun light is blocked by sail liked shades which represents the sea and port side. The ramp starts from the ground floor and takes the exhibitors to the top to feed the fish.

Entering in to the mouth of the shark: Inviting Fantasy Exciting. The modern high tech materials like glass steel help the exterior and interior to be more modern.

35

Big glass exhibits are helpful for more observation and also give the space more under water reality.

The pipes on top of the exhibit are for extra ventilation, in this particular exhibit an observation tunnel is passing through.

120 residential flats on Cheraga west of Algeria (36° 46’ 1” North, 2° 57’ 40” East) this is design proposal for 120 residential flats in Cheraga west of Algeria the design emanates from a desire to sustain a well rooted modern design tradition in Algeria this Is actually the city which was meant to be the scene for le Corbusier daring motorway on the roof of the longest residential (barre) in the history of architecture and it is also the place where pure geometry has always been celebrated.

SHAMS Abu Dhabi is Sorouh’s landmark development on Al Reem Island. As the future home to 45,000 residents, SHAMS Abu Dhabi will become a self-sustaining city designed around soothing canals and relaxing parks, integrating world-class master-planning practices and extending the lush green of Abu Dhabi’s landscape.

SHAMS Abu Dhabi features several novel projects including Shams Park, Shams Gate, Sky Tower, Sun Tower and Marina.

The eighteen hectares Sainte-Maxime project was developed under Dr.Nabyl Chenaf’s supervision. The geometry composition was considered as a part of the sustainability settlement. The prefabricated material was considered to bring a cost effective and time saving project.

MA Interior and Spatial DesignGravity Centre

This is a multi-purpose project including, living and educational spaces in Dubai. The aim is to design a new educational gravity center as a tourist point in Dubai. The geometrical design process began by warping an envelope based on program needs and defining an existing tree as gravitational point. This concept generates a smooth transition from space-frame to surface morphology by incrementally increasing or decreasing the aperture in the triangular faces. The gradient porosity of the system is related to environmental and programmatic performance. The system is designed to respond to programmatic requirements as well as environmental needs such as ventilation and day lighting. Since associative models such as this become very complex, a parametric program was required to manage the processing of data. Working within the framework of rhino and grasshopper, it is possible for the real-time experimentation, manipulation, and analysis of this competing system with integrated results.

This thesis proposes the development of a new School of Architecture for the American university in Dubai. It offers the opportunity to explore technology in software and construction methods to improve the performance of architecture and urban design in respond to both culture and environment. The response is local and global, a balance between rigidity and flexibility which transforms liabilities into assets. This project develops various sustainable principles ranging from economy and ecology to social and cultural factors, and resolves them with an integrated design strategy based on computational design methodologies. Inspiration is found in coral porous skin structures with inherent surface pattern possibilities. This has lead to the practical development and implementation of an active solar controlled envelope system with lightweight textile construction as means for adaptable and responsive environments.
