i know how to hunt and
collect animal skins!
In 1751 the boones moved
to yadin valley.
daniel was one of the best shooters and earned himself 1300 acres of land because of it! daniel won all of
the shooting contests he entered.

in 1769 daniel made an expedition into kentucky. he discovered the cumberland gap: a narrow pass through the appalachian mountains.
wow this is some hard
work!
in 1775 he built a road to kentucky
named the wilderness trail.
They chopped down trees and even built small bridges for wagons to pass through.
boone spent 3 years building a fort and started a settlement called boonesborough.
boone most likely learned to read and write at home. he often took books with him on the trail.
i can shoot the tick off a bear's nose.
when i was 14 years old i
killed my first bear!
boones rifle was called the "ticklicker"
in 1784 a book was written about boone that made him a folk hero!
