Together,asindependentinstructors,EdandDianahavebeenprovidingdanceinstructiontotheIndianapolisandsurroundingareasforthepast9years.Theyareavailabletogether,orindividually,forbothgroupandprivatelessonsinAmericanSmoothandRhythmdances.
Both beginning and intermediate dance lessons are available
only WITH paid admission to the dance.
Please, no video recording of the lesson withoutpermission of the instructor.

It’sbeengoodtoseeCDCmembersLanaandJoeHeinsmanjoiningusagainonSundaynights.Followingasevereinjurytoherfootthreeyearsago,LanafoundshecouldnotkeepupwiththevigorousscheduleofdancingsheandJoehadenjoyedsincebecomingemptynesters.Withherfootnowonthemend,Lana’shopingtheycanbecomeCDCregularsoncemore.Thesonofmissionaryparents,JoespenthischildhoodinfarawayTaiwan,returningtotheStatesintimetobeginattendingcollege.ItwasinFt.Wayne,35yearsago,thatJoemetandmarriedLana,whohadbeenraisedonanOhiofarmontheIndiana-Ohioborder.Thecouplemarried,livingfirstinFt.Wayne,thenChicago,finallysettlingintheirpresenthomeinMooresville.LanahasservedasadministrativeassistantatGraceChurchinMooresvilleforthepasttwentyyears.Joeworksasastructuralengineer;asa“woodspecialist”,heisinvolvedinstructuraldesignworkforapartment,condominium,andstudenthousingprojects.TheHeinsmanshavetwochildren.TheolderdaughterresideswithherhusbandinChampagne-Urbana,Illinois.AmandateacheshighschoolandherhusbandisworkingonhisdoctorateinRussianHistory.Daughter#2issingle,workingasarehabilitationtechnologistinGreenwood,Indiana.
Infact,itwaswhenthatseconddaughterwasaseniorinhighschoolthatJoeandLanafacedtherealization-theywereabouttobecome“emptynesters”.Theyneededahobby,and,aftermuchdiscussionandexploration,decidedballroomdancingwasgoingtobe”justthething”.TheybeganbyenrollingforlessonsintheArthur
Murraystudio(now5Star).Whentheeconomytankedin2008,theHeinsmans’dancingadventurewasrudelyinterrupted-Joe’sjobwaseliminatedina“downsizing”.Afterthat“dark”periodinhiscareer,Joewasabletofindprofessionalemployment,adaptinghisskillsandexperienceinadifferentfacetoftheconstructionindustry.BackattheStarliteundertheinstructionofScottand
YuliaShook,JoeandLanaonceagainhadthefreedomtoenjoytheirtwohobbies–dancingandtravel.TheHeinsmansappreciateContinentalClub’saffordablepricing,greatdancefloor,andcasualatmosphere.Meanwhile,travelcontinuestoratehighonthecouple’sto-dolist.TheiradventureshavetakenthemtoMexico,Jamaica,Russia,TaiwanandKenya,withmoretripsintheplanning.Butwherevertheyfindthemselves,theydance.“Welovedancing,”Lanagushes.“It’saromantic,just-the-two-of-uskindofthing!”(basedonaninterviewwithboardmemberRhodaIsraelov)
