HERE’S A REALFISH STORY

Andrew Little of rural Rosebushbrought this three-pound GermanBrown trout to us Sunday morning to relate a fish story to end‘em all.

Andrew was fishing Saturday onthe Chippewa River and hookedthe big trout, but he had forgotten to take along his landing netand the fish got away.

He went right back Sunday morning before church, hooked thesame fish (the marks were iindeniable on the fish’s mouth), andthis time Andrew had his landing net along. He got his bigBrown trout.

He was fishing from the bank,he told the Messenger. This wasa right hefty German Brown, andwe congratulate Andrew on hisfishing skill.

SOFTBALL PROSPECTSLOOK GOOD FOR WEIDMAN

The Weidman Softball Leaguewill hold a meeting Thursday,May 5, at 8 p.m. at the Weidman Fire Hall. Plans will beformulated for opening of play.Slow pitch will be used.

It appears at the moment thatthis summer spectacle will onceagain be available to Weidmanresidents, absent from the scenefor the past two years.

In past years it provided muchentertainment for many olderpeople, who could always beseen at the park when the teamswere playing.

At the last meeting, threeteams and sponsors announcedavailability, and at the moment a fourth has been promised, which means that we willbe able to operate.

Such matters as entry fees, games times, and general rulesare still to be decided, which,it is hoped, can be done at thismeeting. Setting a date foropening of play also will be decided.
