“If I Could Go Anywhere…”• The Rappahannock Reading Council Presents
Spring Writing & Cover Illustration Contest• WHAT: Theme: “If I Could Go Anywhere…”• HOW: Write about a place you would love to go. It
could be anywhere. It can be a real place or an imaginary place you’ve created– it’s your story!
• OR Design the Cover for the book that will house the winning entries for “If I Could Go Anywhere…” on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.
“If I Could Go Anywhere…”• WHEN: All entries for both contests DUE MARCH 18• WHERE: Return all entries to a designated box in the SHS
libraryWinners will be invited to attend an Author’s Celebration at Conway Elementary in April to honor and showcase their talents with friends and family. Each winner will receive a copy of the published book containing all the winning entries.
• QUESTIONS: See Mrs. Flath, literacy coach • Flyers available in the front office or the library.
SHS PTSA• The PSTA is seeking designs for the After Prom
T-Shirt. Creator of the winning design will win free admission to the After Prom and a Free T-Shirt.
• Contest rules are available in the front office• Deadline is 3-21-11
Club News
Agents of Change• Agents of change would like to announce their
“new” addition to the Counseling Office• “Love is not Abuse” box• This box is where people can drop hints if they
have seen or been involved in a relationship of abuse or harassment
• We hope this will be a helpful tool to encourage healthy relationships
Agents of Change• See the red flags around school?• These are the warning signs of an abusive
relationship• If you see any of these warning flags in your
relationships either dating or friendships, take action!
• Go to the “Love is not Abuse” box in the Counseling Office to express your concerns
Key Club
• Key Club is sponsoring a “March of Dimes 10-Lap Walk” on Saturday March 12th
• All are invited to participate • There is a $5 registration fee and forms are
available from Mrs. Bridges in S-205
Game Club
NHS
• There will be NHS tutoring every Wednesday after school, in the library.
Sports News
Cheer• Cheerleading Conditioning begins April 5th
• Please stop by the main office to pick up an information sheet
• Tryout information is available in the main office
• Conditionings are open to 8th – 12th grades

• Coaches: email Mrs. Thomas with all your sports news and results or fill out an announcement in the front office!
