The year was 2009 and Daddy Bawsten was sitting on the couch playing Halo on Xbox 360, when he received a phone call from a long time buddy,

Jersey Demic. The call came in regards to a video that was being shot in Orlando for one of Demic’s single.

The two traveled via car from New Jersey all the way to Orlando and back which gave them a lot of time to chop it up. Demic asked Bawsten, “How

come you’re not in the music business anymore?” Previously, Bawsten managed an artist which ended up going to jail so this event caused him to take

a break from the scene.

When Bawsten returned to his “normal” life of Video Games & fat blunts, he received another call from Demic. This time it was an invitation to work on

a project. Bawsten had always been into writing and recording, so rap was far from foreign to him. Almost immediately, the duo entered the studio to

begin work on a project they titled, “The Golden Record”. Performing and promoting at major clubs and venues in New Brunswick, NJ they created an

instantaneous buzz. “Obama” became they’re claim to fame as they were the first rapper to perform in front of the White House. You can see a video

on YouTube as they re-created their piece during inauguration weekend with no microphones.

As the HIN tour began, Demic & Bawsten, were forced to perform early in the day, way before the headlining act even entered the building. Tension

built as Bawsten had never performed for a national crowd. Heart racing, palms sweating, and a deep swallow ensued as Bawsten runs on stage before

their set even started and he had the crowd chanting “Obama” in a state that is mostly Republican in Miami, FL. This rush of adrenaline consumed

Bawsten and he immediately became amalgated with the crowd.

After a few shows Demic and Bawsten became the stage manager and host for the Hot Import Nights Tour after previously opening for acts like LMFAO,

Far East Movement, Keith Murray, Erick Sermon, Trina, DJ Khaled and more.

As Bawsten developed as an MC, his style and preferences started to differ from Demic’s so the two split but never stopped working or performing

together. This brought the emergence of Daddy Bawsten. As a solo artist Daddy Bawsten began his lyrical tirade on Jay Electronica’s “Exhibit C”

instrumental which picked up steam fast on the internet as it was posted on several prominent blogs including Russell Simmon’s, GlobalGrind.com.

Two years later, Daddy Bawsten is now working on his solo EP, “Vacation” which is a mixture of easy listening sounds and collaborations with R&B

singers that can be classified as a woman’s delight. The first single from the project includes Brooklyn native, Jay Chordz, on a track they call “Winner”.

The movement and machine that drives Daddy Bawsten, is his creation of the “Rebelz” which is a non-profit organization designed to increase

awareness of the many devious acts taking place in the world today. They are anti-war and pro green energy. T-Shirts have gone on sale to help victims

in Japan and the group is working towards sponsoring a deprived child in the U.S.

Daddy Bawsten is known for often repeating the quote, “We Can Save the World” and he truly believes that if we all come together it is possible to live

in a free and peaceful world, where no one has to worry about food, clothing, or shelter.
