ASM Tri‐ State Scientific Meeting & Parasitology Masterclass, Darwin, 22nd ‐25th September 2017.
Invitation
On behalf of the SA/NT Branch Committee we have great pleasure in
inviting you to attend the ASM Tri‐ State Scientific Meeting and
Parasitology Masterclass that is to be held in Darwin, 22nd ‐25th September
2017.
Tri‐State meetings have been initiated and supported by ASM branches in SA, WA and NT for over 25 years. The aim is to bring delegates together in an intimate and unique environment and provide good food, social and networking opportunities. You can expect a varied and engaging scientific program presented by some of Australia's top microbiologists. The Parasitology Masterclass began with its inaugural meeting in Tasmania in 2009, In this, the 6th Parasitology Masterclass, it aims to again provide an excellent blend of wet workshops, classroom teaching, and formal presentations.
We hope you will be able to join us and enjoy the
Meeting and all that Darwin has to offer.

Poster Presentations
This year, for the first time, we are offering to delegates the opportunity to provide poster presentations at Tri‐State. Space will be provided in the foyer area where refreshments are being provided for posters to be displayed. We are also making available in the Tri‐State program the opportunity for poster presenters to give a short three minute verbal presentation on their work. The structure of this three minute presentation will follow that as being used in the ‘Three‐Minute‐Thesis’ competitions: a single backdrop slide with minimal text, no animations, merely as a backdrop to the presenter. The three minute verbal presentation will be done in a manner that complements the poster and draws the delegates to read the poster in full. Those presenting posters will need to indicate their interest in taking up a verbal slot; where the number of applicants exceeds the number of slots, these slots will be allocated on merit by a judging panel of the organising committee. The decision of the organising committee will be final.
