1 Objective of this deliverable

The compilation of a European Fields of activity list was established as deliverable of the project serving the following project objectives:

Provide comprehensive information of Fields of activities, who are active in the re-search, development and production of fuel cell stacks, components and materials

Deliver the target groups and companies for the supply chain assessment, i.e. task 2.1 of the project, including benchmark of state-of-the-art materials and components.

Identify potential candidates for the stack development and integrator role as well as for a strategic role within the European stack industry.

Deliver the required information for targeted dissemination of the results and involve-ment in project activities such as workshops.

Therefore, the Fields of activity inventory is establishing a group of selected organizations and companies, with whom the consortium does interact and collaborate for the purposes of the project.

2 Fields of activities

The fields of activity inventory covers the following specific material and component catego-ries and target groups:

catalysts, membranes, MEAs, GDE, GDLs, bi-polar plates, sealings, stack manufacturers, automotive OEMs, fuel cell system integrators and research organizations.

It is therefore representing the whole value chain for developing and manufacturing automo-tive fuel cell stacks. While in the first step, a broad data base was established containing all known players with-out specifically validating their particular role in automotive stack development, in the second step choices were made based on the following criteria:

involvement in and expertise of automotive stack development activity of technical work and its results for the project objectives competitive position vs. state-of-the-art readiness to provide information thus contributing to the project.



The organizations within the inventory list were approached by the respective working group members to validate and double check pre-selections, gather relevant information and con-solidate the group of players thus narrowing down the initial list. The players who were pre-pared to deliver input to the project, were offered to sharing results of the assessments, par-ticipating in workshops and thus benefitting from the project activities. This group has delivered main input to the supply chain analysis and at the same time estab-lishes the extended Fields of activity group which is involved in the restricted dissemination activities of the project. The Fields of activity inventory will be updated on a regular basis in order to leverage new information and update the list with potential new Fields of activitys.
