ISSUE I
A Letter from the LTGThis month was a very exciting and reflective month for me. I learned many valuable lessons and also had the time of my life at our service event, training sessions, club visitations and the April Division Council meeting. My first DCM was not as daunting as I thought it would be, taking on a new role was definitely an interest-ing shift and seeing it through the perspective of an LTG was very enlightening. I was incredibly moved to see that 5 out of 7 schools were present at the DCM and I could really feel the unity of the division starting to take ac-tion.
I actually visited Excelsior School, Marshall High School, and Rosemary School. At Excelsior I gave the officers a little training session on how to com-plete and understand MRFs, Key Club 101, and Key Club resources. At Mar-shall High School, it was interesting to see how the officers ran their Key Club meetings which I really enjoyed seeing. At Rosemary, I am proud to announce that we will be expecting some Rosemary students at future events! (Yay) I am so glad we can finally have them become integrated in what we do as a division whether it be service or fundraising events.
The March for Babies event was incredibly fun. I met so many new people from Excelsior and got to know some people better in our division. I am so thank-ful for that and I thought the walk was a nice bonding time for the division. We also fundraised $150 for premature babies! I am so proud of us and I look forward to our PTP Movie Night Fundraiser/DCM and Ronald McDonald House. See you there!

Greetings all!My name is Patricia San Pedro and I am proud to serve as your next division newsletter editor. I know that it is going to be a challenge obtaining articles from you all, so fear not! I have incentives for you to write articles for me. Key Club holds many events and I am excit-ed to see you all at the various activities we may have; and if you had fun, why not write about it? It’s just like writing a blog, pretty much. I’m definitely looking forward to the upcoming year and term! <3

Please give a warm welcome to

aPRIl dcMThe April DCM was a great way to kick off the
new Key Club year! All the D10 N Key Clubbers
had a chance to meet new people and have fun
while eating the delicious chocolate mousse.
We played ice breakers to ‘break the ice’ and
get a chance to meet new people from other
schools. Later, Betty, our LTG, ran over the
events for April and May. After the quick brief,
we learned how to make paper cranes for the
hospital. Making paper cranes were challeng-
ing yet fun, but the end result was successful.

The April DCM was my first DCM ever. Well,
let me just say that all Key Club events are
filled with fun. And that in every event I at-
tend, I learn new things and meet new friends!
I taught a group of San Marino members how
to make paper cranes, it was interesting. All
I kept saying was “fold the flappy thing.” I
also enjoyed the food. Oh and by the way I’m
going to need the recipe for that sandwich.

bers from South Pasadena High School met at Garfield
Park for a special mission. Their mission: to write letters
to the 200+ people who were affected by the Boston Mara-
thon Bombing. The event allowed us to know each other
more. Also, despite being thousands of miles away from
Boston, it felt good knowing that we could still send our
regards to a diligent group of people. #prayersforboston

March for Babies? It’s not just a walk.
Not only was it a way to showcase our talents of cheering with spirit, it was an amazing way to promote Key Club
and the amount we strive to do. Each member fundraised at least $5, and as a division, we raised quite a lot to
fund research and programs to help provide babies with a healthy start to life. As we walked along the three mile
route around USC, there were people on both sides holding posters with facts about premature births. This was
a great event to start off the new KC year – I can tell you that each of us learned something new that day! Al-
though it was extremely hot, it was really fun to be able to bond with our division while helping local communities.

Even along the busy route, it’s still possible to catch a glimpse of the
