(RM) Removable machined contacts

For special applications, for example

harsh environments, C.D.M. offers a

high-quality removable machined (RM)

contact. It is a solid closed barrel

machined pin and socket contact.

Manufactured from a solid copper alloy,

the contact features high mechanical

stability and can carry a higher current

than the stamped and formed contact. The

six-finger gold-plated female contact

guarantees a low and stable resistance

over a great number of mating cycles at a

low insertion force.

The crimp barrel is designed for a high-

quality, 8-impression (MIL spec.)

crimp.

Contacts are available as female or male parts and for applications where

two different contacts – male and female – are needed in a mixed configuration.

For manual crimping a standard hand tool is available. For automated crimping,

C.D.M. can be contacted for advice.

V.35 Headers

For placement on printed circuit boards C.D.M. has several fully assembled, ready to place V.35 headers available. The

headers are pre-loaded, fully or customer specific, with size 16 or 10 machined contacts. The header can accommodate

male, female or a combination of male and female contacts in any desired configuration. Headers are standard equipped

with jack screws, mounting brackets for securing the header on the printed circuit board and a wafer to guarantee a fixed

solder post position. The standard jack screw has an UNC6-32 single thread; on request, a double threaded version is

available.

The mounting hardware bracket can either be a snap-in type or one with a screw hole.

For those applications where available board space is critical, a “low profile” header is also available. The depth of the header, the space occupied by the header on the board, is approximately half the depth of the standard header. The header is loaded with size 16 machined contacts, upon request headers loaded with 1.0 mm machined contacts are available.
