Covid-19 Medicare Scams on Rise Against Seniors Seniors are being widely pitched with COVID-19 insurance scams trying to

defraud their Medicare accounts and steal their identities.Fraudsters are offering “free” testing kits, vaccines and supplies – promising

Medicare will pay. Medicare and other scams are rapidly rising against America’s52 million seniors, who are among the largest targets of COVID-19 hoaxes.

Ignore unsolicited requests for your Medicare, credit card or other personal information fromstrangers.

Do not respond to robocalls, texts, emails from strangers, or or door-to-door solicitors. Dealonly with sources you know and trust.

“Free” COVID-19 tests, vaccines, medicines or treatments are shams. Ignore them.Consult a trusted doctor or other health provider to check your medical status, order a

COVID-19 test – and learn the facts.Never click on links from unknown sources. Clicking may download malware.

Veterans Day by Cheryl Dyson

On Veterans Day we honor all

Who answered to a service call.Soldiers young and soldiers old

Fought for freedom, brave and bold. Some have lived, while others died,And all of them deserve our pride. We’re proud of all the soldiers who

Kept thinking of red, white, and blue. They fought for us and all our rights.

They fought through many days and nights. And though we may not know each name,

We thank all veterans just the same.

Happy New Year BabyConnie Francis - 1987

Another year is almost through,It's new year's eve and I'm with you,

Happy happy new year baby,It's been a year I won't forget.

So many things I recall,The joy of spring, the thrill of fall,

Happy happy new year baby,It's been a year I won't forget.

Tick tock, two lovers watch the clockAs the old year slowly slips away.

I pray, one year from today,We'll be embracin' in the same old way.

Now's the time, dim the light,It's twelve o'clock so hold me tight,

Happy happy new year baby,It's been a year I won't forget.

Now's the time, oh dim the light,It's twelve o'clock, so hold me, hold me tight,

Happy happy new year baby,It's been a year I won't forget.

Councilors are present Monday & Wednesday: 9am-1pmFriday: 9:30am-1pm @ The Niagara-Maplewood Senior Center

It’s that time of year again! If you are enrolled in a Medicare Prescription DrugPlan or a Medicare Advantage Plan (HMO/ PPO), expect an information packet

options you may have. You may also qualify for programs that assist withpremiums and other out of pocket costs. Call now to discuss how SHINE can help

you with your Open Enrollment options!

To contact a SHINE counselor, call your local senior center. Remember thatappointments fill fast during Open Enrollment, and SHINE offices will be very busy. You can reach a SHINE counselor by telephone at our regional office. Call 508-222-1399. town in which you live. A volunteer will call you back as soon as possible.
