    A Guided Prayer

Dear Jesus, as I call on you today I realize that I often come

asking for favors.Today I'd like just to be in your presence.

Let my heart respond to Your LoveLord, help me to be fully alive to your holy presence.

Enfold me in your love.Let my heart become one with yours.

    (Pause)

Lord, You created me to live in freedom.May Your Holy Spirit guide me to follow

You freely. Instill in my heart a desire to knowand love you more each day

    (Pause)

    Reflection

How am I really feeling? Lighthearted? Heavy-hearted? I may bevery much at peace, happy to be here. Equally, I may befrustrated, worried or angry. I acknowledge how I really am andthat God loves me just as I am.

Scripture: Luke 18:35-43As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by theroadside begging. 36When he heard the crowd going by, he asked

what was happening. 37They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth ispassing by." 38He called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercyon me!" 39Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to bequiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy onme!" 40Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41"What do you want me todo for you?" "Lord, I want to see," he replied. 42Jesus said to him,"Receive your sight; your faith has healed you." 43Immediately hereceived his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all thepeople saw it, they also praised God.

Help me, Lord, to notice how you are speaking to me

Reflection:What feelings are rising in me as I pray and reflect on God'sWord? Imagine Jesus himself sitting or standing near you andopen your heart to him

    (Pause)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and tothe Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now

and ever shall be, world without end.Amen
