Slim, compact, and lightweight —JVC’s new DLA-M15 D-ILA™projector is the perfect replacementfor the massive 3-tube CRTprojectors that were once the onlychoice for anyone who neededlarge-screen projection images inbright lighting conditions. With theDLA-M15, you can project brilliant,high-resolution, big-screen S-XGAimages that truly rival imagesproduced by conventional CRTprojectors. With 1500 ANSI lumensof brightness, a single lens designthat eliminates complicatedalignments, and an adjustable shiftlens that lets you stack projectors foreven greater brightness output, theDLA-M15 is the ideal solution fortoday’s projection requirements.

Single-Lens Solution for Big-ScreenProjection Systems

The DLA-M15’s adjustable shift lensmakes it very easy to adjust screenposition. The projection lens can bemanually offset between 30% and 55%in the vertical direction, so you canquickly obtain an optimal projectionimage even when using two DLA-M15sin a stacked configuration. Complicatedadjustments are not required and theDLA-M15’s superior imagereproduction capability makes it idealfor use in large conference rooms, halls, and media centers.

Utilizing a high-density reflective LCDwith a homeotropic structure in whichthe LCD elements are aligned vertically, the D-ILA™ (Direct Drive Image LightAmplifier) device produces extra-bright,high-resolution, high-contrast imagesideal for big-screen projectionapplications.

An Optimum Solution for Replacing CRT ProjectorsWith a lens that has the same projection ratio as that used in many CRT projectors, the DLA-M15 can be installed inpractically same position, providing an easy replacement option. And thanks to the lens shift capability, you won’t haveto reposition the projection screen either.

Maximize the impact of your presentations witha display your audience won’t soon forget. When connected to a computer, the D-ILA™ projector can turn an ordinarypresentation into a stunning multimediaexperience. Its extra-bright, high-contrastimages are clearly visible to everyone in theaudience even in a relatively bright room suchas a conference room.

BUSINESS

EVENTSEye-catching demonstrations can beperformed at trade shows and otherevents. The crisp, high-contrastimages on the large screen will be sureto catch the audience’s attention.

Full signal input capability

Workstation-Quality True S-XGA Resolution

The D-ILA™ projector can projectextra-high resolution images of up to1,365 x 1,024 pixels. That means it caneasily handle even the super-sharpclarity of an S-XGA (1,280 x 1,024pixels) image without the scaling orloss of quality that normally occurswhen projecting the high-resolutioncomputer graphics and CAD imagesproduced by today’s cutting-edgeworkstations and laboratories. Thesmall text, characters, icons andcursors typical of a computer displayare clearly legible even at the cornersof the projected image.

Incorporating a high-power 420 WXenon lamp, the DLA-M15 boasts abrightness level of an incredible 1500ANSI lumens. Together with theequally impressive contrast ratio of350:1, this ensures that the imagesyou see on the big screen are as clearand bright as they would be on a smallmonitor — even under bright lighting

conditions. The higher contrast bringsout the tiniest details even in darkportions of the picture — something notpossible with conventional LCDprojectors — while the Xenon lampassures “true” color and clarity. Theresult is “realistic” color reproductionthat’s comparable to high-end CRTprojectors.

The Adaptive DPC (Digital PixelConversion) circuitry optimizespicture quality regardless of the inputsignal resolution to ensure smooth, clear images. Variable scanningfrequency capability with horizontalscanning frequencies ranging from 15kHz to 82 kHz assures compatibilitywith a wide range of source signals. The 10-bit Digital Gamma Correctioncircuitry facilitates accurate gray scaleand color reproduction. Even theintricately colored images created bygraphics workstations can be clearlyreproduced and displayed on thescreen thanks to improved color

tracking while “real” black reproductioncapability assures crisp blacks forcleaner, sharper, more detailedimages.

The DLA-M15 is ready to startoperation within two minutes ofswitching the power on. Even with atwin-stacked configuration, initial setupprocedures and complicatedadjustments are minimal. The DLA-M15’s single lens constructioneliminates the need to adjustregistration and the user-replaceablelamp design simplifies maintenance.
