WEST VIRGINIA CHILDREN WITH SERIOUS EMOTIONAL DISTURBANCE (SED) 1915C PUBLIC FORUM Join the West Virginia Bureau for Medical Services (BMS) team to learn about the work that is taking place supporting children with Severe Emotional Disturbances (SED) by helping to keep them with their families, in the home, and with a support network while receiving the services they need to improve their outcomes. BMS is evaluating options for this through a federal waiver known as a 1915(c). To help BMS create this waiver in a way that supports the community, we are seeking public input. Your public input will help BMS design this 1915(c) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) wavier. The HCBS waiver will allow BMS to provide Medicaid services that may not otherwise be covered under the existing Medicaid program. So, your input will help BMS prioritize the services included while also balancing federal cost neutrality requirements and providing these services to as many children as financially feasible.
