“How to cut a pineapple”

Last June 2012, Ken and I had the exceptional opportunity to travel to the Philippines to consult on the

set of a 3D movie being filmed there. The company bought 8 "Sony Film-maker Packages" of our

adapters and I helped the film crew with their use while Ken worked as the on-set Stereographer

assisting the Director who had not shot a 3D film before. We are so thankful for the amazing experience!

The images I have shared in this newsletter provide just a peek of what we saw and it all feels so surreal

now- especially with the two feet of snow we've gotten here in the foothills of Colorado this week! I hope

you enjoy them!

Filter/Close-up Adapter for new Sony HDR-TD30V 3D Camcorder

This new compact 3D camcorder from Sony was released at CES in January at a much lower price than

the older TD10 and TD20 models costing under $1000 from various retailers. A customer of ours bought

the camera and had it sent directly to us so Ken could design some adapters for it. Incidentally, the

generosity and patience shown by Christopher Parkhouse in Thailand is a good example of how we are

able to keep designing new products for new cameras because we can’t afford to buy every new camera

that comes out on the market. In fact, another customer is sending us a TD20 to adapt this design to fit it!

Ken liked the camera because it shoots amazing close-ups and produces beautiful image quality, but like

the TD20 and TD30, it does not shoot stills. (continued on page 4)

Cy-3D iPad Viewer Uses the Full Screen Width!

All of the new 3D televisions and monitors are great and beautiful, but there is nothing quite as immersive

and realistic as looking at 3D images through a stereoscope. Ken was inspired to design this unit after

receiving many requests at the 2012 NSA conference in California last July.

The Viewer is designed to fit the newest full-sized iPad (with Retina

Display.)

This new iPad Viewer enables 3D viewing with a 40 degree field of view!

The Viewer incorporates high quality, prismatic, achromatic lenses that are

fully coated for anti-reflection- and it shows video in perfect sync! The

resolution for each eye is 1024x1536. This unit can be hand-held but is

more comfortably used when attached to a table-top tripod.

We have sold and shipped the first three production models, which were all very

well received so we have opened up the sales. If you own and enjoy one of the

first viewers produced by Cyclopital3D, the Digital Stereoscope, then you are

going to love the improved image quality and ease of use with this iPad Viewer!

Additional Features and Benefits:

• No need to reformat pictures if you already view in parallel/side-by-side format

• Adjustable inter-ocular and focus

• Super fast image scrolling

• Shows video in perfect sync

• Eye-guards help to block out visual distractions

• Cable-free viewing if iPad battery is charged

• Tabletop tri-pod included (iPad not included)

Viewer.html

“Everything is clear, sharp and the field of view is unparalleled! The lenses are operating perfectly

and appear to be of very high quality. Congratulations on a terrific device that should satisfy even the

most critical stereo photography fanatic.” Lorran Meares, Enlight-10 Fine Art Photography

What do you want us to build for your Fuji W3?

Since we’ve heard that it’s

unlikely Fuji is going to release

a new 3D camera, we are

asking you the question– what

else do you want or need to

make it better?

You, our customers and friends,

are a great source of inspiration

that keeps us going in our

business every day.

We recognize that many of you

are brilliantly creative! However,

please understand that we won’t

be able to build everything that

you ask for, especially if we

think what you want would be a

custom/low sales volume

product or low profit margin

product.

Like many of you, we

appreciate the benefits that the

Fuji 3D camera has to offer. So

we want to do what we can to

improve its functionality.

We are accepting ideas and will

honestly and thoroughly

evaluate them for feasibility and

potential sales volume

opportunities.

How do you view your printed side-by-side images?

When we get our StereoWorld and Stereoscopy magazines in the mail, or any other printed side-by-

side (SBS)image, we use our LED Lighted Print Viewer (LPV) to easily view the stereo images. We

have been told by many happy customers that the Cyclopital3D Lighted Print Viewer is a great way to

view SBS images in stereo magazines. The image sizing in Stereoscopy is consistent and works well

with the LPV. StereoWorld is a little more variable with image sizing, but many of them work great.

The LED Lighted Print Viewer provides a wide 46 degree horizontal field of view and the print holder

accepts modern sized 4x6 prints. A few months ago Ken improved the mechanism for attaching the

print holder so it’s much quicker and easier to put on and off. The Viewer can be hand-held or used with

a tripod and the eye-cups easily fold back to accommodate eye-glasses. No more searching for the

“right light” to view your 3D images!

Viewer.html

If your audience doesn’t say,

“It’s like I’m there!”

Then you need a better viewer!

Ken’s Latest

3D is the Future of Photography!

Ken is working on some new twin rig systems for s3lls

and video. The features are very exci3ng and he is

hardly sleeping while he works to get this

accomplished! We expect to have new products in this

family to demo at NSA the first week of June.

New Filter/Close-up Adapter for HDR-TD30V (continued from page 1)

With the new Filter/Close–up Adapter the camera

can now shoot amazing “macro” video and also

includes a useful, removable lens hood. Even if

you’re not a big “macro shooter” having the ability

to use filters and polarizers is a huge benefit!

We understand that people also want a Stereo

Base Extender for the TD20 and TD30 because

of the close lens spacing, but that product is

further out and a lot more complex to design,

requiring prisms rather than mirrors due to the

small interaxial on the camera.

To read more about Cyclopital3D Sony camera

products and see sample macro footage of a

running pocket watch filmed by Ken, go to our

website at http://www.cyclopital3d.com/Sony-

Ken and Tanya’s Travel Update We will be attending several 3D conferences this

summer. If you are planning to attend one of the

conferences listed below and are expecting us to

bring inventory to sell, please be aware that we might

not bring what you want. So, if you are considering

purchasing one of our products and hoping to pick it

up in person, please give us advance notice and

request that we bring the item for you. Our variety of

products has grown too large for us to bring one of

everything or for us to anticipate what you might

want to see, so making a request is your best bet.

We are looking forward to seeing you in person!
