MORE PEOPLE CYCLING MORE SALES GOOD FOR BUSINESS
THE ECF CYCLING INDUSTRY CLUB INDUSTRY’S ADVOCACY VOICE
TOP REASONS TO JOIN CIC
• We help governments and cities create more bicycle-friendly spaces, which gets more people cycling.
• More people cycling means more sales of bikes and equipment —and that’s good for business.
• CIC is a cost-effective partnership. As a not-for-profit body, ECF doubles industry input by matching it with EU cash. With these funds we unlock €billions in public expenditure.
• We gave an international audience to cycling innovators, such as bike-sharing, e-bikes and cargo bikes, and we continue to put them on the new technology agenda.
• We’re for jobs. We put the “Cycling Economy” on the international policy agenda and now we are campaigning to create over 200,000 new cycling jobs through our “Green Jobs” initiative.
MEMBERSHIPThe club is open to all commercial organisations with cycling and cycling related sales in Europe. Businesses make an annual financial contribution to ECF’s advocacy in the range €1000-€100,000 depending on their cycling related turnover in Europe. Larger payments can be phased by arrangement.
WHAT INDUSTRY LEADERS SAY ABOUT THE CLUB
“It is clear all bike businesses should be making this commitment to advocacy. To stimulate growth…information exchange between bike manufactures and European stakeholders is essential.”
Rob Oudshoorn, Board Member PON
“I think it’s our obligation and responsibility to join forces with all of you to make cycling more popular in Europe.”
Tony Lo, CEO Giant
“This is important for all of us. Advocacy is more than marketing or product development, it is the way we work together to build markets.”
Frank Bohle, CEO Schwalbe
“I think every European cycling company should join the club in order to increase the importance of the bicycle in cities of the future.”
Tony Grimaldi, CEO Cycleurope
