Four tours with shortenings are described in this booklet. They lead through the hillsand valleys near most of the natural, cultural, historical and ethnological heritage inBre`ice community. You will soon forget straining slopes, but impressions andbeautiful sights will stay in your memory forever. Tours lead on roads with less trafficand all of them lead mostly on macadam roads. All tours can also be found on theSport's club Muha web site: www.muha.si and www.visitbrezice.com .

Eight cycling trips with shortenings are described in this booklet: 2 difficult, 3 middle,and 3 easy. Tours should satisfy more demanding recreative and amateur bicyclists. Themore inventive ones can link up the tours.

Every tour is presented from more points of view: description of the road, altitudeprofile, and theme map. Tours are described from point to point, which are importantfor orientation. Points are mostly crossroads. Numbers of points are connectionbetween description, map, and altitude profile. Approximate time of the tour does notinclude stops. Joint altitude difference is the amount of all slopes on the road. You canget detailed description of these interesting details in Tourist information centre (TIC),where all tours start and end.

HOW TO GO ON THE ROAD?

Use technically impeccable bicycle. Donot forget gloves, wind jacket andhelmet.

Do not overlook the securitywarnings in the most

dangerous sections. Meeting avehicle can be very dangerous

on the narrow roads!

Consider the danger of meetingforest or agricultural

mechanisation. Do not be surprisedby unleashed dogs.

On tours you ride on your own risk. Youhave to pay regard to rules of the road.You have to adjust the speed to your ownabilities and circumstances.

At the group of pools we leave Terme ^ate` on the main road.

We turn right on the crossroad, right once more on the street lights to the Sava bridge and continue on thepavement to the crossroad where we turn right.

We turn left before the late-baroque church in Mostec and in the middle of the village, after 300 m, we turnright to the major road, we cross Gabernica and then the rail road.

We turn right to the main road and continue to village Ganerje.

There are three turninigs right at the beginning of the village Gaberje. At the third turning we turn right toMali Obre`. Winding road through the village and the grove.

We turn right to the main road to Kapele.

In the moddle of Kapele we turn left to Bre`ice. Downhill to the forests of Dobrava. In the middle of thesection we cross the major road and continue straight to Globoko.

We turn right to Bojsno and ride on the main road.

At the house number 39, which is on the right side of the road, we turn left, down to the narrow asphalt road.

We turn left and continue straight ahead to the saddle in the middle of the forest.

We turn left, up in the direction of Brezje. Before the church of St. Urh there is a 9% slope.300 m after the church we turn sharp down to the right.

100 m after the sign Sadjarstvo Plevnik, which is on the left side of the road, we turn right down to thesteep road. Carefully! On the flat land near the farm and then right to the main road.

We turn left to thr main road through the Dramlja valley to Vitna vas.

We continue straight ahead in the crossroad to the macadam road.

We turn left to the asphalt road. Straihgt ahead through the crossroad near Bla`eva gorca.On the Y junction we turn gently to the right. Partly macadam section.We turn right down through Jane`eva gorca straight down to Bizeljsko.We turn right to the main road and continue straight ahead through Bizeljsko.At the end of the village we turn right, up to Pi{ece.At the end of the slope we turn left. A gentle slope follows straight to “repnice”.

We turn gently to the right to the macadam in the direction of Kelhar's “repnice”. Downhill to the valley of Hudina.

We turn left back to the asphalt road.We turn right to a very traffic road and continue straight ahead. Carefully!!In @upelevec we turn left to Kapele.

In Kapele we turn left to Rakovec and ride through Jereslavec to Rakovec.

In the middle of Rakovec we turn right behind the basketball basket. 4 km of macadam road follows at theedge of Jovsi. When we come to asphalt, we continue straight to the main road near the fire station inVeliki Obre`, near the small chapel in Dobova, across the rail road to the main road.

We turn right to the main road and continue straight ahead to Mostec.

In the middle of Mostec it is possible to turn to ferry across Sava river or straight ahead to the junction in Trnje.

On the junction we turn left, at the street lights near Sava left once more and left again at the crossroadnear the highway.

We finish the tour at TIC.

SHORTENINGS:

ADVICE:

When You leave Terme ^ate`, you can crossSava with the ferry, when the ferry works. As to the desriptionyou start cycling in the point 3, where you cross the main roadnear the church. In the point 7 you continue 1 km straightthrough Kapele to the turning to Rakovec, where you turnright, down in the point 26.

Do not forget your ID, because you'll be riding alongthe state border.29

DESCRIPTION: Cycling tour leads along the confluence of Krka and Sava and comes down toVrbina near the Bre`ice castle. The middle part of the road leads through the forests. We rise tothe massive of Orlica up the north side. Unforgetable view offers itself at the St. Jedrt church.Downhill near the Pi{ece castle will lead you to village Pi{ece and then along the vineyards tothe hillside of the hillocks and back to the valley.

Description of the sectorAt the group of pools we leave Terme ^ate` on the main road.

We turn right on the crossroad and ride straight ahead through the street lights, on the traffic road to the oldbridge. Be carefull!We turn right to the old bridge over Krka and Sava to the Bre`ice castle.Before Bre`ice castle we turn left to the macadam road.We turn left to the rut. We ride to the fence, then right to poplar plantation, we cross the macadam road andstraight ahead to the asphalt road away from the poplar plantation.We turn left to asphalt road and after 300 m right once more.

We cross the rail road and turn left to a traffic road, after double turning the road levels.We turn from the main road to Trebe` and ride straight ahead. We continue straight on the road which leadsto Glogov Brod.After the road turns left, we turn right to the rut through the fruit gardens. At the beginning of Arti~e we jointhe main road.In the middle of Arti~e we turn left to Vol~je. We continue straight through the Arti~e forest. There is adownhill at the end of the section, we turn right in the saddle and rise to the wine road.We turn left to the wine wavy roadwhich leads mainly through the forrests in this part.

We turn left and come down to the Mo~nik valley.

We turn right to thr main road. Gentle slope through the forrest along the Mo~nik stream.

We turn right to Osredek. At the turning to Osredek we ride straight ahead. Slope!!!

At the junction near the quarry we turn right into the forrest on the asphalt.This is the highest point of the tour. We continue straight down. Steep downhill on the asphalt. Carafully,because you will have to almost stop before the church and turn left!!!Before the church we turn left to the macadam to the Pi{ece castle, at the castle's pond we turn right and wecontinue to the pond along the main road.We turn left near the pond to the main asphalt road to Pi{ece.

In the middle of Pi{ece, before the shop we turn down right in direction to Globoko.

From the main road we turn gently to the left to Orehovec, slope.At the top we turn gently to the right. We ride on the ridge wavy road. At the junction under the St. Kri`church we continue straight up.

We turn right at the junction towars the St. Barbara church which is in the middle of the section in the forestover the road.

We continue gently right in the junction on the main road straight down.

At the end of the slope right and after 100 m right again. In Globoko straight in the junction.

Before the sigh De~no selo to the left, straight through Condrovec and across the rail road.

100 m after the sharp left turning on the main road we turn off the main road to the left in Zakot.

After we come to the main road, we turn right up towards Bra`ice. We turn right at the street lights, we ridestraight over the cross road and the sava bridge.At the street lights near Sava we turn left, left once more at the cross road an we return back to Terme^ate`.We finish the tour at TIC.

DESCRIPTION: Cycling road takes you through onepart of the Podgorjanska wine road to Gadova pe~. Youwill rise to slopes of Gorjanci, near the vineyards andwine rooms, where the pride of Dolenjska - wineCvi~ek, has its home. You return to terme ^ate` alongthe other pearl of Dolenjska - lower stream of Krka.

At the group of pools we leave Terme ^ate` on the main road.

At the first junction we ride asross the high way, and on the other one we turn left to Prilipe.

We turn right up in Dvorce. In Cerina right past the castle to @ejno.

Before @ejno the main road turns to the left and after 100 m it starts to go down through the village. Agentle slope to Sobenja vas follows and downhill to Globo~ice, where we ride straight near the Touristfarm Pri Martinovih.

50 m after the tourist farm Pri Martinovih the main asphalt road turns gently to the left, we continuestraight up on the macadam. 1 km of wavy macadam road follows to Kra{ka vas, partly through thewoods. The road takes us down through the village, pass the cross and gently up, at the junction wecontinue straight down to the main road.

We come down to the main road. Carefully!!! We turn right towars Brvi.

We turn left up and the straight to Stojanski vrh and forward to Gadova pe~.

We came to Gadova pe~ - birth palce of Cvi~ek. We continue right along the main road downhill. At theturning for Belinje we ride on the main road to the left!!!

When we come to the main road, we turn right and continue downhill to Bu{e~a vas. There is a sharpturn to the right at the beginning of serried houses in Bu{e~a vas.!!!

In the middle of Bu{e~a vas we turn left on the main road. We continue our road along river Krka.

We turn right in Dol. Piro{ica and continue through the village.

We continue straight in the junction outside the village. We go straight in Velike Malence over smallbridge to the bridge in Kr{ka vas.

At the bridge in Kr{ka vas we turn right towards Bre`ice. We ride pass the recreation centre Gri~, passthe old bridge and straight throug the street lights.

300 m from the street lights we turn left towards the dike and ride along the dike to Terme ^ate`; 1 kmof the road is macadam. We turn right to come into the hamlet, pass the Toplice hotel.

We finish the tour at TIC.

Do not forget your ID, because you'll be ridingalong the state border. Because of a big part of a macadamroad we suggest tyres with rough profile.

DESCRIPTION OF SHORTENING:

If we decide for the shortening, we turn left up.

On Mali Cirnik (meadow on the left) we turn right to Jane`ev dol.

We turn left and go down to Tolsti dol.

After the abandoned quarry we turn left and continue downhill to the Prilipe ditch.

We turn right near the benches and continue downhill to the pond in Prilipe.

We turn left to the main asphalt road and follow the description in point 15.

We ride pass hotel Toplice towards the Sava dike.

We turn left to the dike, on the dike to the first houses and then along the wall, before the steps to theright across the green plot, under the Sava bridge and behind the guesthouse Budi~ along theconfluence. If there is a narrow pass under the bridge, get off a bike.

We turn right to the main road, continue along Krka, pass the old bridge ant under the high way toKr{ka vas.

Under the bridge in Kr{ka vas we turn left and continue along Krka.

We turn left in Velike Malence, right after the bridge over the stream Globo~ec. A 2% slope follows on anarrow valley straight to Globo~ice.

We turn right in Globo~ice, pass the tourist farm Pri Martinovih.

We continue to the left on the main road. After 100 m macadam strats, which ends with a downhill.

At the junction near Suban's mill we come to the Croatian border and we turn left.

We go straight down on at Vla{ki kri`. There is a slope at the middle of the section, which ends at theturning to hunters home Mokrice, where we go straight.

We turn left on the main road. At the first houses straight to asphalt.

We turn gently to the left to asphalt in the moddle of Ponikve. A beautiful view opens to Croatia.

Turning to Brezje, we continue straight pass Velika dolina. We ride pass the golf course Mokrice and godown to Nova vas near Mokrice.

We turn sharp to the main road in direction to Bre`ice. Pass the turning to castle Mokrice, we continuestraight along the high way to the pond near Prilipe.

Near the Prilipe pond, the shortening joins the main road. The road goes straight.

At the first junction we turn right and cross the high way, at the second junction we turnto Terme ^ate`.

We end the tour near TIC.
