If you like speed and keeping fit, these routes are definately something to stick to. Many up and down hills provides the perfect work out but will not before the weak hearted. To help along the way there are quotations from Lance Armstrong and inspirational idols from Preston such as Edith Rigby.

Edith Rigby a huge activist in the early 19th century was born in Preston in 1872. A great feministknown for hunger strike and chained herself to bars. She was the first female ever to ride a bycycle in Preston city centre.

Many Attend, But Few Understand”The line along Tulketh Road does not have the best turrain and is best suited for rider on mountain or off-road bikes. The bumpy ride is only short that can be avoided by using the ‘Grand Day Out’ route.

At the edge of Moor Park is a great place to rest before the trawl into Preston centre.

The ringway is one of the fastest ways to get through the centre of Preston, with hills going up and down that really tests a riders stamina.

Ribbleton Lane is the most direct route a rider should choose when heading from East to West of Preston. It places you directly onto the ringway which takes you outside the main area of pedestrains and on through to Liverpool Road.

London Road offers a great ride over bridges and through parts of countryside that can still be experienced at a fast pace.
