Participants viewed the latest technologies, attended a wide array of educational sessions and workshops and enjoyed numerous networking opportunities. The highly-rated 32-session technical program covered topics such as commissioning case studies in education, health care and commercial settings; datacenters; controls and automation; building envelope; hot water systems; energy storage; LED lighting; data analytics; the IoT; test & balance; finance; and updates on ANSI & ASHRAE standards. Speakers represented companies and organizations including Siemens, ENERGY STAR®, Google, Jacobs Engineering, Sebesta, Rheem, Schneider Electric, Trane and more. Over 3,000 AIA continuing education credits were awarded to attendees. “Good and frank discussions comparing Cx techniques, strong technical presentations and product demos. I am happy I was able to attend and recommend it for others in the commissioning field for 2017!” said Daniel McJacobson, PE, Senior Energy Engineer, McGuire Engineers. McJacobson gave a presentation on the Internet of Things (IoT) in energy management. With 47 sponsors and exhibitors, CxEnergy’s expo hall showcased a wide variety of companies that provide leading-edge products and services. Their offerings ranged from software, controls, instruments, and metering devices to consultative services in engineering and building management. “There was a lot of energy and enthusiasm in the crowd,” said exhibitor Dwyer Instruments Global Product Management Team Leader Michael Chhutani. “We look forward to next year’s conference!” CxEnergy featured a Commissioning Authority (CxA) certification workshop by the AABC Commissioning Group and Energy Management Professional (EMP) Seminar by the Energy Management Association. Over 100 professionals took the new CxA exam (that is being aligned with the Department of Energy’s Better Building Workforce initiative) and EMP exam. Planning for CxEnergy 2017 is underway and presenting organizations are eager to build upon the success of the 2016 event. CxEnergy 2017’s presenting organizations will announce the dates and location of the event next month. CxEnergy is presented by the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), and Energy Management Association (EMA).
