The CX-A5100 supports the latest surroundsound playback formats such as Dolby Atmos®

and DTS:X™. In addition to conventional channel-based audio, it is possible to create a3D space in which separate acoustic elementscan move freely, giving a sensation of themotion of “objects” above the viewers headthat fully realizes the filmmaker’s intentions.

The high-rigidity chassis was specifically designed to eliminate the effects of vibration for greater sound purity.

As part of this preamp processors no-compromise design, Yamaha created an advanced chassis with strong rigidity. Chassis stiffness is enhanced by a three-ply structure that incorporates an independent top cover, aluminum side panels and an H-shaped cross frame. The ART (Anti-Resonance Technology) Wedge in the center of the bottom cover acts as an additional vibration countermeasure for the internal circuits and delicate parts.

Bysupplementing the limited number of speakersin a home system, CINEMA DSP creates the effect of a movie theater’s size with a large number of speakers. High-quality parts and design ensure richly detailed sound.

All channels use ultra-high performance ESS ES9016 DACs, which provide 192 kHz / 32-bit processing with a superior SN ratio and high dynamic range, ensuring faithful reproduction from Blu-ray Discs and other players, as well as from high-resolution source inputs over the network. Matched to the design of the DAC circuitry, which achieves stable ground potential (DAC on Pure Ground), they provide high-precision D/A conversion. A new Volume IC realizes low noise and superior sound orientation and a superior low-jitter clock circuit is used for clear and vivid network audio.

Wireless audio streaming and hi-res audio give you lots of flexibility.

Bluetooth support gives you the convenience of wireless music playback while built-in Wi-Fi improves installation flexibility. These two features provide easy access to countless music sources. In addition, compatibility with FLAC / WAV / AIFF (192 kHz / 24-bit), Apple Lossless (96 kHz / 24-bit) and DSD (2.8 MHz / 5.6 MHz) formats means that you can easily play high-resolution audio from a networked PC, NAS or USB flash drive.

The AV Controller app allows convenient control from a smartphone or tablet.

You can use the Yamaha AV Controller app tocontrol power, volume, input selections and DSP modes as well as operate other functions from an iPhone® or Android™ device. You can use the app in 23 different languages and customize its interface by hiding unused icons and renaming functions. A tablet version is also available.

Eight HDMI inputs and two outputs offer video upscaling / pass-through, HDCP 2.2 and HDR* video added in HDMI 2.0a spec.

The HDMI inputs and outputs support 4K 60pUltra HD video image pass-through. In addition,4K Ultra HD upscaling boosts lower resolutionimages and supports 4:4:4 video signals formore vibrant and lifelike images, ensuring fullenjoyment of ultra-high-definition video quality. The CX-A5100 also adheres to the HDCP 2.2 copyright protection standard for 4K video transmission and supports HDR (high dynamic range) video which provide enhanced picture quality by simultaneouslyenabling greaterdetail for both thedark and bright partsof an image.

Advanced HDMI zone switching gives you more choices.

Advanced HDMI zone switching from Yamaha adds the capability to choose from various audio and video sources for playback in the main or second zone. A graphical interface makes it easy to browse and select content from the second zone no matter what is playing in the main zone.

Pro-quality connectors, balanced XLR terminals reduce noise from long cables.

Electrical noise may be generated fromconnections with other AV components, including the connections between them as well as from external noise sources. Toensure that the CX-A5100 is not affected bythis distortion, it uses balanced connectionsthat are highly noise resistant — the sametype generally used in pro audio equipment.Even the unbalanced RCA connection usesa ground-sensing transmission method thatachieves a simple and balanced transmission. When each channel is used independently, theimpact of noise flowing between the preampand power-amp is removed, minimizing soundquality deterioration due to the connection.XLR terminals allow for the use of long cables that may be needed to connect a subwoofer. The CX-A5100 also has a balanced audio inputconnection to high-grade source componentssuch as CD players.
