Year: 2016 – Present Location: Bangladesh Client: Various Main project features: The Assignment aims at preparing Project proposals funded by WB, ADB, DANIDA, EU, EC, JICA, KfW, SIDA, etc. focused on environment, sanitation, solid waste management, flood protection infrastructure and other environmental sectors. The assignment also includes the development of methodology of different areas and preparation of Expression of Interest (EOI).

Name of assignment or project: Water Network Analysis & Optimization of Chittagong City Water Supply System – Study, Design and Construction Supervision

Year: 2016 Location: Chittagong, Bangladesh Client: Chittagong Water Supply & Sewerage authority (CWASA)/ World Bank (WB) Main project features: The Project includes improvement of the distribution network incorporating the hydraulic and pressure modeling of the existing system, its sectorization into district management areas (DMAs) or similar areas of control, the identification and prioritization of problem areas between and within these DMAs/control areas, and the design, procurement and the supervision of the implementation of interventions in the distribution network to form the necessary DMAs/control areas, to counter these problem areas, and to rehabilitate, strengthen and expand the distribution network as appropriate, including the replacement of pipes based on the field assessments of their condition, the installation of pressure reduction valves and flow meters. The Project comprises the following two phases: 1) Phase 1- Study & Design and 2) Phase 2- Construction Supervision.

Year: 2012–2014 Location: Bangladesh Client: Ministry of Commerce/ GIZ Main project features: The Project aimed at improving qualification and competence of effluent treatment plant (ETP) managers. The Project also intend to establish a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) programme on Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of wastewater treatment plant with the experts of North South University through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The PGD programme comprised several courses including ETP processes, Biological and chemical treatment, mechanical and electrical part of wastewater treatment plant, occupational health and safety, fast aid training, ISO 14001 –EMS and firefighting.

Position held: Project Coordinator Activities performed: Responsible for overall project management and coordination. The scope of services included: preparation of PGD course material, ensure promotion of social and environment standard in the industry; maintain liaison among GIZ, Consultants, NGOs and Governmental bodies, project accounting, communication and outreach activities, project monitoring, assisted the consultants, assisted in workshop and training manual preparation, program documentation and report preparation i.e. inception, progress and completion.

Year: 2013 Location: Bangladesh Client: IIED Main project features: The objective of the project was to establish the practice of micro insurance (crop insurance) in the rural sector of Bangladesh. This study included: review of literature and micro insurance activities, needs for crop insurance in Bangladesh, Policy-Institutional framework for crop insurance, Gaps in policy-institutional framework, addressing insurance illiteracy, approaches of micro insurance delivery channels to poor households, potential for public-private partnerships, gender and micro insurance, options for the Future: comprehensive and integrated approach.

Identified the climate change impact in cropping pattern, micro insurance practice, and insurance products.
